First time doing a split stay in a month.

Do you trust WDW bell service to handle transferring your personal-belonging, like work computer and iPads, from one resort to another? Pop Century to Poly for me in this case.

TIA

With the exception of my last trip (last week), I have found it to be extremely reliable (I've had no issues with any damage / lack of care being taken with my luggage - and I've used resort transfer services numerous times). This last time - not so much! BUT, I will say that I think it was a result of the person at Pop just not being aware of the process. What I experienced was that we were transferring from Pop to PoFQ and they asked when we were expecting to get to PoFQ and I told them lunchtime. And, they indicated that they'd have the bags sent over in the AM. So, we got to PoFQ (looking for our bags to change to swim for a bit), but they weren't there. It turns out that they only do resort transfers once (or so I was told) and it is usually not until around 3pm or so. So, I would say that the transfer is reliable - just make sure you find out their schedule for doing the transfer and plan accordingly.

Have fun on your trip!!

We have had no issues, although we have always been told not to expect our luggage until at least 3pm as they don't transfer luggage until the afternoon, I am sorry that the previous poster was not warned of this as it is a pretty important detail to leave out.

Yeah, I think it was just that the person that told us that didn't know! I don't think that it was intentional or anything like that, just that they weren't aware. It wasn't a huge deal, either way, but just a little bit of a nuisance (mostly because I had to listen to my two teenage daughters whine! lol).

thank you both for sharing your experience.
When you dropped off your luggages, did you receive a form of receipt indicating how many pieces of luggage going where?

Yes. Of course. It is very professional. If you have concerns though, you could always get an Uber/ Lyft and transfer them yourselves to the Poly early in the morning. Leave them with Bell Services at the Poly and you will know they are there and you will be able to access them if you want

You're welcome! Actually, with all except the last trip, I did receive a receipt. For the last trip, they just had me leave my luggage in my room and bell services came and picked it up while I was already headed out.

You could pack up your computers/tablets/etc and take them to your new resort and leave them with Bell Services. Then let Bell Services from the first resort move your luggage to the second resort. You'll want to check out and check in again at the new resort anyway. So do that with the idea of leaving the more expensive stuff with Bell Services. Just pack those items in a separate bag.

We just finished a triple split stay between BCV to Poly to Boardwalk and I would say it was extremely reliable. After the first transfer we thought to think ahead about the bathing suit thing but then couldn't swim because of the rain (figures). I had my laptops an iPad, my full purse and some expensive camera equipment and everything arrived perfectly fine.

Pretty much every trip we get back to our room after the parks at around 9/10pm only to find one or more of our bags was not delivered. Every time we called bell services and the lost bag was found and delivered pretty promptly, but that sort of begs the question why it wasn't delivered on time in the first place. Regardless, I have never worried about theft, if that is the question. If you are concerned, just get a TSA approved padlock for your suitcase.

We do split stays almost every trip, and do about a dozen trips a year and have never had any problems and yes, they move our electronics. I never give it a second thought.
We always plan to stay at the park for the day we move resorts. We send everything off, head to the park, then leave the park on the bus to the new resort in the late afternoon and our stuff has always arrived. If you know you can't make it till late afternoon without all your stuff you may want to arrange something different, such as moving some of it yourself. I hate doing that as it takes so much time to stop at the new resort first.

Completely. The person at Pop was completely in the wrong. As you found out, they can't do what they said they could do and should have never told you that. This was in no way a fault of the transfer service but a badly informed CM. Sounds like the transfer service worked exactly like it was supposed to work. They don't transfer till after 3:00 PROPERTY wide. No matter who it is coming from or going to. No matter what you are told.

We've done a split stay a few times and never had any trouble with luggage and food transfers. We don't normally come back to the room until dinner time or later, so we just make sure to take what we will need for the day with us.

Agree completely! And, with numerous times using the transfer service, that was the only time I've had any issues (and like I said, I think it was just a break down in understanding the process (the person at Pop), more so than an issue with the process itself). And, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to use the service again, I would just plan accordingly!

This is super important! If you plan to go to your second resort mid-day to swim or anything like that, you need to bring what you need yourself. I always make sure we will be out until late afternoon on a switch day, or bring it in your day bag.
