Is the Kingston Disney Store Closing?

Anyone from the Kingston area know if the Disney Store is closing down? A friend at work thinks it's going to close in 4 weeks. I'll be so sad if it goes.

I walked past it yesterday and there were no signs up to say its closing down - they do have a sale on tho, maybe your friend thought it was a closing down sale

I would be surprised if it does close at its always pretty busy and in a great location. I've already had to cope with the Warner Bros store in the Bentalls Centre closing a few years ago, they can't take away Disney too!!

It's still showing on the website even if Disney think Kingston is in Central London

Croydon's store always seemed busy when visiting with the girls but that closed just before Xmas.

Went to Kingston today and had my 6 year old in tears when confronted but a closed Disney Store! The place was completely blacked out, all the pics down the side painted over, only a couple of weeks ago we were in there and no sign of it closing down, I really was shocked! A very sad sight to see.

How sad. I did post on Friday when I found out for sure. As I said on that post the staff were hoping that the Disney Store would be getting a new location outside the centre, but I'm not that optimistic.

That's so sad, I've been going in there for years and years and years! In fact I met Belle and the Beast in there when the video of Beauty and the Beast was released

Just have to go to the Covent Garden one now but it gets sooooo crowded with tourists........

I emailed the head office an got the following reply

Thank you so much for your email and your appreciation towards the Kingston Disney Store. We will be reopening the Store in Kingston within the Bentall Centre sometime next week. Please feel free to be in touch towards next week and I can try and confirm opening times.

Gosh, I'm amazed (and pleased) it's that quick! The way the staff were talking they were all being relocated and didn't know when or if there would be another store in Kingston.

I wonder whereabouts they are moving to.

I was in Kingston yesterday and didnt see any sign.
I would imagine the Pier on the top floor would be out as it's probably just as big as the old Disney Store. There is a small store next to Zara on the 2nd floor empty, could it be there? I just hope it's a permanant store and not just a small clearance store similar to the old WB Store when they closed the main store, I really miss that shop too!.

Just back from Kingston and there is a new but much smaller Disney Store on the ground floor of the Bentall's Centre. Not the same atmosphere, but better than nothing.
