I think we would like the atmosphere at B&C but is the ice cream actually GOOD? I don't like ice cream that feels 'icy' with little crystals in it.

LOL - from the pics I've seen and the reviews i've read - I'd say the ice cream is great! I've always been too full to try it when I'm near there, however I am DETERMINED to fit one in on my next trip...I'd say because it's an ice cream shop on Disney property - I'm guessing that it's top notch....

Yes, the ice cream is good. Would I make a special trip there? Probably not, but I'm not that huge of a fan of ice cream. Since we stay there often, it's usually a stop we make. Try to avoid going at peak dining times as the place is very small and the waits to get in can be long.

I was wondering this too...is the Kitchen Sink worth the $$? Thought it would be nice to cool off outside the park for a bit...is it worth the walk from Epcot?

Thanks!

The ice cream is typical ice cream...nothing fantastic. What makes it worth the trip are the special and amazing toppings. I have not been able to find anywhere that comes nearly as close when it comes to melted peanut butter. mmmmmm....I want a No Way Jose right now!

OK, melted peanut butter would make up for any annoying little crystals! I think we'll try to stop by!

We go out of our way every trip to WDW to go to Beaches and Cream. DH is fussy about his ice cream and he likes it. He loves the burgers. DD and I love the ice cream. Go, I don't think you will be disappointed. :) Debby

That's what I was hoping to hear! There aren't many people who are fussy about their ice cream like your husband and I.:snooty: If a fussy ice cream eater will eat there, so will I.

Although my mind was actually made up after learning about the peanut sauce stuff. I hope they haven't stopped serving it because of the peanut recall.

we are going to finally go there! we're on deluxe dining--

does each person get their own dessert on the deluxe dining plan or do they make you each share one? -like the No Way Jose???

I really hope someone knows!!

The ice cream is great. We had the kitchen sink last time we were there.

The ice cream (and other food for that matter) is good and getting the kitchen sink is an experience that goes beyond merely the eating of ice cream. Go! You won't regret it.

Banana Split. Yum! Yum!::yes::

I haven't had an actual icecream there, but I did have a milkshake (may have been a thickshake) there, which was made with icecream and it was soooooo good ::yes::

The sink bowls are so cute!

And if the kitchen sink isn't for you
go for the NO Way Jose! It's choc/peanut butter heaven !!

Its Edy's ice cream (Dryers in parts of the country) - you can get it at the grocery store and try it yourself. The toppings are Smuckers.

I'm an ice cream snob and I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Its really expensive for a bowl of mid-tier grocery store ice cream.

Ugh! We have Edy's. It's OK for scooping next to a slab of birthday cake for a kid's party but I don't know if I want to spend $$ or calories for something I can get here just because it's in a REALLY cute dish. I'd rather get Dole Whip.

This was my original worry. What to do?

To me, the big risk isn't the money - its Disney, we will spend it on stupider things (though a Dole Whip is a GREAT value at Disney) - or the risk of bad ice cream (Edy's isn't bad - it just isn't what I would even bother to take out of the freezer at home for anything other than a kid's birthday party) - its really the TIME. If we are "in the area" (and we stay at BWV, so we are in the area often) and in the mood for ice cream - I'd stop and have a dish (we get out Edy's at Seashore Sweets in cone form on occasion). But the real issue is that with kids if we are going to walk over, we've made the commitment to go, and sometimes B&C can have really long waits - even if you try and hit an off time. It might be worth the money (in Disney value), it might be worth the calories, if it takes an hour to get and eat a sundae I can make at home, it isn't worth Disney time to me.
