or it would it be better to pay outo of pocket. I am going back & forth on this one and 2 TS credits just seems like too many. Any thoughts???

Honestly, if I had to pay OOP I wouldn't do it. The show wasn't *that* great.
I'd use 2 TS and pay for another meal OOP if I had too.

Thanks. We are still on the fence about this one. 2 TS seems like alot but since we have never been there I cannot say if it would be worth it or not. Others I talk to who have been there say the kids will love it and we definetely should go. Decisions, decisions!!

We're asking ourselves the same question.

As far as paying OOP for Cat 1... would you still do that wih 2 adults and a 3 year old? We went several years ago and sat in the balcony and still had a lot of fun. I'd like to try Cat 1 and the price difference seems worth it but mighht it overwhelm a toddler? She's typical- semi out going... a little shy then she warms up. She loves music and dancing.

example- I dance in a German folk dancing group with other relatives and she loves to practice with us but usually shrinks back when there is a crowd at an event until just before we're ready to leave. When she saw HDD pictures she was excited to see "dancers".

I just don't want her to be overloaded in cat 1 but I don't know if cat 3 is too far from the magic for her to get into? I know, a 3 year old might love it or hate it no matter where we sit

Thanks for letting me ramble on...

Absoutely worth it! Its good food and A fun Show. I see this many many times and would still go back again and see it.

We really enjoyed ourselves! We had Cat 2 seating all the way in the back (I think we were the farthest back actually) and I can't complain about the view. The performers are all around the dining area, so you won't miss anything. And beer was included! I loved that part! :)

I think it's worth doing at least once, even at 2 TS.

YES! It is one of the only ones I have heard that is actually worth it.
We did it last year on the plan, 3 rd show Cat 1, against the stage. DD was 3 and loved it.
We liked it so much that DH said we had to do it again. So we are booked second show cat 2.
The food was good, the beer was good, and it was just good fun. One of the characters name is Claire, and my DD's name is that as well, and she was wearing her mouse ears hat with her name on it, and they kept talking to her since they had the same name. She loved that too. She felt special.

"Worth" is a totally subjective matter. What is "Worth" it to me, might not be "Worth" it to you.
We love HDDR. We are going again on our upcoming trip. We are a party of adults. The show is fun and full of corny jokes, and singing and dancing with a fair amount of audience participation.
The food is good "Down Home Cooking'. It is not gourmet and not great, but if your expectation is correct it is very good.
For us, it is "worth" it. We are paying OOP as we want Cat1 seating at the 7:15 show.
Good Luck with your decision.

I'm wondering the same. I have a 1 yr old this trip so I'm not too sure I want to keep our ressies here.

Last Sept. we were on the DDP and decided to pay OOP for the Hoop and then use the 2 TS each for a breakfast at Crystal Palace and first night go to Coral Reef.

Personally I don't feel any of the shows are worth using 2 TS credits for Category 2 or 3 seating. I much prefer to pay OOP and get Category 1 seating.

I find it funny the people who say it's OK to use 2 credits but they wouldn't pay OOP. You know you're paying for those credits too? Each TS credit equals about $25. So when you are using 2 TS credits you are essentially paying about $50 for your seat. Category 3 seating is about $52-53.

My feeling is that if by not using the credits you would leave them unused, then it would make more sense to use them and just live with the Cat 2-3 seats. But if you could use the credits elsewhere for something you would otherwise be paying OOP for, then I'd rather spend an extra $10 per person and buy Cat. 1 seats OOP for the show. We sat up on the side balcony toward the back corner for this show and we felt we were very far from the stage. If you are using credits, you have to assume you will be getting Cat. 3 seats even though it's possible to get Cat. 2 seats.

Like other ppl have said, it depends on your preferences, but I agree with the poster who said that this is one of the few places worth using 2 TS credits for.

We've seen the show before and will be going back in July using credits. We'll do the 9:30 show so we can get cat 1 seating. We did 9:30 last time and were in the back of the cat 1 seating and our seats weren't all that bad. Hopefully by booking as soon as my window opens we'll get better seats this time. The performers do go up to the balcony, but I felt like we got more interaction on the floor. We're doing the GF tea that afternoon, so that will serve as a late lunch for us, then we'll snack to make it to the 9:30 show.

HDDR is a great use of table service credits because:
1. alcohol is included (beer and sangria) and
2. tip is included

I think where the "best" seating is is somewhat subjective. Being right in the middle of the action, in category 1, wouldn't be comfortable for my kids, so category 2 or 3 is actually "best" for us. I've actually read several reviews saying they thought the "best" view was from the center of the balcony.

If you don't mind, or even prefer, category 2 or 3, its absolutely a great value from your TS credits.

BTW, my parents took my to HDDR when I was 12 and I still remember it being fun, and I'm hitting the big 4-0 this year.

My mom and I were just discussing possibly doing HDDR in August. This is perfect timing. My other question (because now I know it's worth going too! :goodvibes ) is how to get there. I'll be staying at CBR, so I'm guessing I'll need to take the bus to MK and then the ferry? How long of a commute is it to get there. I've heard it's a far walk once you get to the resort. Any details would be much appreciated! :flower3:

The 1 yr old is free, and I think she/he will love it.

You can get Cat 1 for the third show with the dining plan, which we did last year. We were right at the stage. This year we decided to try it earlier and got Cat. 2. So we'll see where we sit, but I really don;t think there is a bad seat in the house.

Not far at all. First off it's at Fort Wilderness camp ground, not one of the resorts. Once you get off the boat from MK it's just a short straight walk up the path.

Thank you! I still can't keep Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge straight! Glad to hear it should be an easy trip. ;)
