is the foodservice at either Caribbean Beach or Coronado springs run by 3rd party?

My husband seemed to think he remembered something about that.
We are thinking of upgrading to a value. We stayed at POR last year, but I just HATED the food court. I've told him I will stay there again, but if I find myself hungry after a day at the parks, he will have to take me to the POP food court before taking me back to the Resort!!!!

I don't know if they are handled by a 3rd party, but when we stayed at CBR I hated the food court. Oddly enough the food that tasted the best at CBR was the kids chicken fingers/tenders. I'd much rather have the food from any value resort. We stayed at ASMovies and loved the food court. :cool1:

I thought the best thing about CSR is pepper market which is a cross between a table service and a counter service. Definitely great food there in my opinion.

I stayed at CSR 2 years ago and hated the "food court". I put this on a post and someone told me that it was another caterer who handles the food for this resort. I stayed at CBR also but not sure if that is run by an outsider.

Have to disagree with "Ancestry". The food was ok at the Pepper Market. I hated the table service. I wanted to sit where I wanted, get drinks and refills when I wanted etc. This was the first resort I stayed in and thought I would not return. When I select table service, I know what I get. I prefer a grab and go in the resort.

CSR's food court (Pepper Market) is operated by a 3rd party. This is the only resort food court run by anybody other than Disney.

And IMHO it's the worst thing about CSR! They wanted a tip? For what?

They did show me to a table. Of course since it was one of the ONLY clean tables in the place I probably would have gone to that one on my own.

They never got me a drink, they never said anything to me, they never cleaned the mess off the tables around me...

TIP?? REALLY???? For what? The "privlege" of eating surrounded by messy tables. Hmm...

I liked CBR's food and food court much better.

CSR restaurants are not Disney operated. Pepper Market, Rix Lounge, Maya Grill, Cafe Rix and Laguna Bar are operated by Palmas Services at CSR. I read somewhere that they also run San Angel Inn, La Cantina de San Angel and La Cava del Tequila at Epcot.

I have stayed at CSR twice and was not a fan of the Pepper Market at all. The food was not good and the service/operations was atrocious. Horribly rude.

Thinking maybe we will do French Quarter and if I am hungry late just swing by Pop. Several of our meals are later this time anyway....

No idea about 3rd party, but we really enjoyed the Pepper Market at CSR. It was very good and cooked to order. They had tons of choices. They also have servers that get your drinks. I liked it, it was very relaxed.

I do have to give a shout out for CBR tho, we ate breakfast one day there. My DD has a peanut allergy. The manager had her made special waffles so they would be safe. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy.

We, too, found Pepper Market to be an unpleasant experience. The wait staff did absolutely nothing, yet got 10%. The food was fair, at best. We let some QS meals go unused rather than return to Pepper Market.

Maya Grill also used to be wonderful, featuring unique and very tasty Nuevo Latino cuisine. Now, it's just a standard chops house.

The food options were the biggest disappointment about our CSR stay.

This is my understanding, too.

I was so disappointed in the service at the Pepper Market that I will not stay at CSR again. Which is sad for me because otherwise I liked CSR.
