Really? Seriously? You TRUST what you are told no questions asked? By big business. In this country. Wow. Why would I make something like that up? I love FL. I have family in FL. I love the ocean. I also have friends that are environmental lawyers that used to live in FL (Gulf Coast) and know what is going on with the water there. They got the heck out ASAP after that spill. Do not believe it is cleaned up.

MY BIL is a PHD Envoiromental Scientist, and is Chair at a Uni in Florida and also fishes there

I fish in the shallow, marshy areas of the Gulf which is safe.
Where the heck does everyone think all their seafood comes from, at stores and restaurants?

Dead zone in the Gulf is caused by chemical runoff from Midwest farmers-not BP, BTW

Our company is doing great but all of our jobs are out of the country. We hire local for fabrication but every thing we manufacture is installed and operated out of the US. I wish that wasn't a fact but it is. We have relocated so many plants out of the US. It's sad.

Things are worse here. I got laid off 20 months ago and after applying for literally hundreds of jobs, I have gone on 3 interviews. Minimum wage and part-time seems to be all that is being advertised. By the time I would pay in gas to get to any of these jobs and paying for dependent care, I would be losing money. Very, very discouraging. Gas prices are close to $4.00/gallon here already and the cost of food at the grocery store is rising just as fast. Age discrimination is very real. I should be making top salary and saving for retirment now in my last 10 years of employment, but without a job, that is impossible. When I do find a job eventually, I will have to work forever and retirment will be only a dream. There are more layoffs around here every week in the hundreds and when you have a company like Kodak going under and a local Post Office distribution center where 700 people will lose their jobs, bad times are here.
