Is the Disney Deluxe Plan Worth It? My 2 cents.

Thanks for the report. I especially agree with what you wrote (below) about being a slave to your reservations. Doesn't sound like fun, not to mention being soo stuffed / full! And the *snacks* mentioned (salads?!) sound like true meals within the regular plan! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting. I'm sure your review will help many! :thumbsup2

We also had 23 snack credits left at the end of our trip so we easily could have survived on just the basic free meal plan. Something else to consider was that we were slaves to our reservations. Some require a credit card to secure so missing them would have been expensive. I am glad that we got to experience some of the places we ate, but I think in future we will stick with the basic plan and just choose a few nice places to visit and pay out of pocket.

Very interesting. I didn't see where you figured in the cost of the QSDP though. I realize it was free, but it does have value since all you had to do was pay the upgrade. When determining the value of a dining plan, it is important to take into account everything. If you did this, I completely missed it. If my math is correct, the QSDP value was $1,210.51 which means you broke even.

I only figured what I actually paid out of pocket since the QS was free. This was just to show if the cost to upgrade was worth it. I absolutely agree that had we paid for the QSDP as well as the upgrade we would have broken even at best. I would never upgrade without the free QSDP.
