Is the CR Tower worth the extra $$?

We have stayed just about everywhere on property from GF to cabins at FW etc and when people ask me or my family...we love them all for various reasons. We love the Contemporary! ;) 3x Tower, 1 time in a suite in South wing. We had booked "the suite" at SOG but due to the renovations were moved here. Dad is retired DoD.

I agree with everything posted!

I would like to add if this is a once in a lifetime visit to WDW or a once every few years trip and your really into making it a magical trip and can only achieve the thrill by a tower room, then go for it!

If your coming from the perspective that the additional $$$$ would really *hurt* then stay in a wing room! Your on property, your in a cool resort, and I don't think you'll be disappointed! Some love the wing rooms!

Never had a prob sleeping here.

The *buzz* outside your room when you open the door in the Tower is part of the magic, imho! You can still have a magical stay in a wing though but for our family, even in a suite, we prefer the Tower. The Tower rooms can book up rather quickly depending on your time of travel, fyi!!

Have a magical vacation! :wizard:

Maybe it was the North wing??? :teeth: Whatever one is closest to MK! ;)

If you have children who are very sensitive to noise and crowds, would you say the Wings are better? I would *LOVE* to book the tower (we have 2 rooms in the Wings booked now), but am worried about my DS. He gets very overstimulated and can have problems with tons of noise.

Also, are the wings quieter for sleeping?

Can't wait until December!
My opinion the Wings are louder. Day and night we heard teenagers and kids running up and down the halls. That didn't happen when we stayed in the Tower. We were on MK side the floor right above the monorail, we heard nothing. We were 5 doors south of the center walkway, we didn't even hear Chef Mickey's. We just experienced the occasional vibration from the monorail.

In the Wings besides the running up and down the hallway, we had children bouncing on the beds, this began at about 6:30am and considering that we were at MK til 1am the night before, well you can understand how we felt.

good luck

We would be spending an extra $1,000 for 9 nights. Whew...that's alot of money that could be used for meals, souvenirs, new computer to check the DIS boards with :) , etc. What do you think. Is it worth it? :confused3
If you are already thinking of the things you could buy with all the extra money needed for this upgrade, it's probably never going to justify the expense (in your mind). If I did this over the years, with the amount of tuition expended for a private school education for our DD, private college tuition on the horizon, PAP tickets and concierge resort stays, fine dining & first class air travel, etc.---I would have gone bonkers! I just "do it" without any regrets...or ANY second guessing (such as thinking of all the wonderful things I COULD have purchased in place of these expenditures). Either spend the additional money, and enjoy the Tower club w/o regret or second thoughts...or simply stay in the wings and buy the new computer. There is an old aphorism, used frequently on Rodeo drive (where the shop items lack any sales tags reflecting the price). "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." ;) I'm sure you would have a much better time keeping your current reservation, and saving the money for the other things you mentioned. JMHO. :confused3 It is not how much you spend at WDW, it's how much you can "comfortably" afford.

I wanted to join this thread because I am in a wing room right now, and the price is so much more for the tower, I dont know that I can really justify expenses, but maybe I can convince my husband. Id have to sell a ton of Mary Kay on top of my full time job.
