Is the Carousel of Progress still open?

Hi all!

Quick question: is the Carousel of Progress still open? I got a map today from Disney, and it wasn't listed in the attraction key. I am going in mid-March, so maybe it is only open seasonally.

My understanding is that it is opened seasonally. We went on it in December when we were there. March is not busy so it may not be open.

March is considered Peak-Season (spring break and easter). It probably will be open. Have a good trip!

COP has been open Daily since they had closed Alien Encounter. When Stitch reopened they were going to take it back to being a seasonal attraction but decided to keep it open through the rehab of Astro Orbiter. Currently the plan is to bring COP back to seasonal as soon as Astro reopens, which is scheduled for February 26. I agree with the other post that being Spring Break/Peak time you have a good chance that it will be open in March, but it will be back to it's seasonal hours and the "chance possibility" that it will be open.

Hello? That is peak season and it is VERY busy that time of year. That's when we go as our "big" vacation each year. Yes it will be open , even when the other attractions are open, at least until the end of "peak" season.

However, I'm willing to bet that if the SGE keeps losing popularity like it is, they may keep it open.

It was open on Feb. 9th.

It was the second "ride" I went on that morning and was the only one in the auditorium...kind of eerie since the last time I was on it 16 years ago the place was almost packed. I closed my eyes and still remembered everybody sitting around me.

They have updated the language since it changed from GE's CoP to Disney's CoP, which I'm not sure I like as well (really liked the old version of the song they sang when moving), but it's fun for the nostalgia. Not sure, however, that's it going to last much longer as technology changes so quickly that even the stuff in the last section is already outdated.

Next step might be to make it totally holographic...now that would be progress!
