For my older parents with health and mobility limitations, the cabana was worth it. I was so disappointed that the weather made enjoying the HA cabana we had almost impossible... they refunded us half the cost as result, but I wish we had been given the option of a full refund. My parents loved it, though, even with the deluge of rain that marooned us inside. I was also surprised that the concierge pretty much ignored us. Since my father had a scooter, we were told that there was no way they could escort us to the cabana. We were just given verbal directions and waved on our way. During the storm, we were checked on only once to be told of the discount.
My parents can't really do excursions, especially with the scooter, so the cost equals to almost 1 fancy excursion. My brother and his family want to join us next year for their first DCL, and I expect my parents will be very interested in obtaining the HA cabana again. Now, if it was just me and friends or a young family, then I think the cost is too high when I'm fine just claiming a lounger in the sand somewhere. My parents can't do that easily anymore.
