We are non-members, but are considering purchasing.

We have a trip planned 4/23/09-5/2/09 using the Disney 4/7 deal staying at AKL Savannah 4/25/09-5/2/09. Others suggested we look into renting points.

This got me to thinking, we go to WDW every year or two. We love F&W and know about location, location, location, so we would look to buy at BWV or BCV.

Now, onto my point. Would something like the following be possible, buy resale at BWV or BCV, making sure that in April there would be enough points (either available or with borrowing from the following year) to stay at AKL Savannah or Concierge for that same time period. If everything goes through ROFR and once things closed, what's the likelihood we would be able to book AKL Savanah or CL Studio for that time period?

Also, do the AKL CL Studio come with a Savannah view?

Have a great day!

I bought in Oct of 2005 and was able to book 2 nights at VB & 3 at BWV & 1 at the BCV in Feb 2006-

And today, I just added on at the BLt and booked 7 nights at the bwv in a 1 bedroom at Easter week.

There are so few AKV concierge rooms and many more owners that it is unlikely, not impossible but unlikely to be a non owner and able to book an AKV Concierge, I own at AKV and I called on the 17 to book for october 15-19 next year in concierge and there were no studios only one bedrooms and that was only 2 days into the 11 month booking window. I don't remember if it is 60 or 40 percercent of the concierge rooms that are Savanah View but they all aren't and the view for concierge is not guaranteed.

Yes, I agree. Even calling at the 7-month mark is a near impossibility and will only get more so as AKV sells out. In the COncierge category there are, I believe, only 10 2BR units (60% facing the savannah, 40% facing the pool) which can each be split into a 1Br and ST. That's not a lot of availability for a resort that will have a huge number of members. In addition, you wouldn't be guaranteed the savannah view. Personally, that is a deal breaker for me as the savannah view is the main draw for us at AKV. We stayed on the Concierge level before the AKV were built and it was great, but I personally don't think it's worth risking the savannah view.

As for your reservation, ou'll have much more luck getting a regular Savannah view room. You're going at a semi-quiet time of year so that will work in your favor but, remember, nothing is guaranteed. The closer you get to your travel dates the more likely it will be that the resort is full. If, however, you are flexible and are open to staying at other properties you'll probably be able to get a reservation somewhere. We've stayed at all of the DVC properties and they are all great.

There are only 5 two bedroom conceirge units, which could be split into 5 studios & 5 one bedrooms. 3 are savannah view, 2 are pool view and are not guaranteed. One of the savannah view is handicapped. A friend got a one bedroom at 7 months for last June. To be honest, the views are not the best, you see alot of roof on either side. Our first night was pool view and we were able to move to savannah view (handicapped) for 3 nights.

Thank you for all the replies.

We just spent the last couple hours talking some more and it's a 90% chance we'll be buying into DVC.:woohoo:

We both love Disney and agree that DVC makes sense for us. Based on reading other posts, we're learning toward a couple smaller purchases. One at BWV or BCV and another at either AKV or future resort.

Have a great evening!
