IMO she's not too old. There are people with no kids when we go @ several character meals. Several "older" ladies have been known to have autograph books too. Even though a lot of people consider Disney for kids, I go with the kid at heart. Sometimes I think me, DH, DM & Disney friends have just as much fun @ character meals as DD6. BTW- she loves H&V.

My DS8 loved it, and he doesn't really watch Disney Jr. It was just a really fun atmosphere! We mostly went for my DS4 and DD5, and they both thought it was amazing, too!

My DD is 12 and we are going in May - she loves Sofia. We are doing lunch since they have the chocolate fountain.

No they do not.

We are doing this one for the first time but I assume it is the same as other character meals. They will only be at your table for a couple of minutes for autographs and pics. They'll then move on to the next table of guests.

Like Love2Travel said, it's like other character meals. So Jake, Sophia, Manny, and Doc work their way around the room, one table at a time. They're staggered apart from each other, and keep moving at a pretty good rate, so while you likely won't wait too long between character visits, you won't get a huge amount of time with each one.

I'm not 100% certain they're still doing this, but in 2012, Hollywood and Vine did a little "dance party" with the characters every little while (maybe half an hour or so?), where kids who wanted to could come up and dance to a Disney Jr song or two alongside the characters. The characters then get back to business, starting where they left off and continuing to go from table to table.

I've never seen anyone thrown out for lingering too long... but they do need to keep the tables turning over, because the character meals are immensely popular, and even with ADRs, people often end up waiting for tables.

If your grandkids really love Jake and Sophia (so does my son!), they'll probably enjoy the Disney Junior Live on Stage show, which is pretty close to Hollywood & Vine, so it's easy to go from one to the other. The skits/puppets are cute.

Yes we already have fp's for disney jr show and we're planning on standing in line to meet them. Dh and I were at HS in November and we scouted out as much as we could. I think my granddaughter who is 18 months could watch Sophia all day.

I think my almost-5-year-old son could too... with a little Jake and Mickey thrown in for good measure. He claims he doesn't much like princesses, but he has a soft spot in his heart for little Sofia.

We were there last week, hands down the highlight of my 3 year old daughter's trip. Sofia, Handy Manny, Jake, and of course Doc! I will never forget the excitement on her face! She joined in on the parades and dance parties and just had a blast!
