Asking more for 50s Prime Time , my son wants to order a PB&J Shake at PT, could he get that in place of a drink?

We haven't had the DDP since 2006 and a lot has changed!
Thanks

pretty sure you can if you are an adult but not if you are a kid.

They count as dessert so it only works if an adult (or Disney adult) orders it as their dessert. If your son is under 10 then they have to order from the children's dessert menu which does not include the shakes. Easy enough to fix if an adult is willing to swap desserts.

He is 16 so definitely a Disney adult :) Thanks for the info!

50s, Sci Fi and Whispering Canyon Cafe are the 3 that posters have said pretty consistently will allow a milk shake for the beverage and/or dessert when using an adult credit. At other TS restaurants the success rate for getting it as the beverage has varied because it is not considered a standard non-alcoholic fountain beverage.

This is good to know! We'll be doing 50's PTC on our upcoming trip. Now I have to check out the shakes!

When we were at 50's last year their could only get a shake as a desert - didn't work as a drink, but seems to me some other places we were able to get shake for drink. The shake there is huge and delicious:) could probably be split between two people easily.

We were just there in April and both the adults and kids (under 10) were able to swap their drink for a milkshake. The milkshakes were HUGE. Our server was so awesome she packed them up for us to go and also packed up a huge fruit tray for dessert.

When we went to Sci-Fi in Feb. our waitress was very keen that we understand we could order the milkshakes as our beverage on the DDP. I believe all 4 adults did and then just had water to drink. I was sitting next to my 9 yo DS and we just shared my chocolate shake as it is not an option for the kids and that worked out fine. My dad liked his so well that he ordered a second one as his dessert too!

Well I have two grandmunchkins, one who is a Disney adult at 10, one who is 8. Can I order a shake, order an iced tea OOP and give my younger grandmunchki the shake?

It may be because we always to the deluxe plan, but in January we had no problem at PT 50's getting shakes for the drinks - adult and child
