Is Saturday a busy day at MK?

We will be a WDW in mid-Oct. for 9 days, checking in on Friday afternoon. 2 adults, 2 children (7 & 4). The kids will be ready for a theme park on Saturday but I am not sure if MK would be the best choice because I am unsure what the crowds will be like on a Saturday. I am leaning towards AK on Saturday and MK on Sunday. Any opinions, advice will be greatly appreciated.

I would advise against doing MK on Saturday. It is usually EXTREMELY crowded.

we always go to disney in oct and even though it is a low crowd time of year we have found that the mk is very crowded on the weekends in general because a lot of locals go on the weekends. however it is in no way as crowded as a summer or hoiday time day.

What about AK in regard to weekend vs weekday? I seem to recall quite a few school groups at AK during our last visit.

I have always had luck with MK on Sunday. MK is a different place on Sat. it's way to crowded for us.
We found AK crowded a few times on Sat. but not as bad as MK. We usually will do Epcot during the day, but leave towards evening if it gets too crowded.
MGM didn't seem too bad on Sat. either last year.

After this past fall, I will always avoid AKL on EMH mornings!!!

At MK the crowds tend to build quickly and it tends to stay crowded all the way up to closing.I would go to Epcot on Saturday and try MK on Sunday.

In every guidebook I've read, and also on the boards, I've always been told, avoid MK on a Sat. at all costs! That being said, I've done it, and it wasn't horrible, but I don't think I'd do it again.
