Is ROTR worth two park day reservations?

Hello. I cannot not decide which park to do twice - MK or HS. I want to ride ROTR, but not sure it is worth two days of scheduling around. Do you all think it is worth it? I know it is a personal preference, but just wondering exactly how awesome it is? While I liked FOP, I didn't quite think it all it was hyped up to be - simulation rides are not really my thing - except Soarin'. For some reason, I just love Soarin'.

I would do the two days at DHS. RotR is an experience, not just a ride, and there’s too much going on to take it all in on the first ride. Also, some parts have an A show and a B show, and you don’t know which you’re going to get. Keeps it interesting. Finally, there’s a lot to see in the queue, and depending on how fast the line is moving, you’ll probably notice different things each time.

I don’t get the hype personally, but we also experienced NUMEROUS breakdowns that involved having to leave the queue and come back and then being stuck in various places, and after all the stress of trying to get a BG, it all left a sour taste in my mouth. I mention only because it seems like a lot of people have a similar experience.

Remember, a full day in HS gets you two attempts to get a BG (morning and midday distributions), so given that I don’t think it is worth two days. Particularly as without fastpass it is very difficult to ride much at MK in a single day.

A case study for your consideration:

On my last trip, i had only one day at HS. I did all the right things, but didn't get a successful boarding group on either the 7am or 1pm attempt. I got a backup group on the 1pm attempt, but backup groups didn't get called up.

So, on my next trip i have two days at HS.

Upcoming trip - 9/12-9/18; myself, husband, son (4) and son (10 months); park-hopper ticket. We've got reservations at HS for our first and last day, with one day reserved at each of the other parks.

I would love to ride RoTR and will try my darndest to get us a boarding pass in the morning on our first day. If we get them, GREAT! If not, we'll try again at 1pm. If we're still not successful, we'll probably try to hop to Magic Kingdom or another park for the rest of the afternoon.

Admittedly, though, I have a soft-spot for HS. Despite this being my 10th trip to WDW, I'm always shocked by how much fun I have at that park. I am not a huge Star Wars fan, but also know that this will be my first time at the park since Galaxy's Edge has opened. Between that and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, I have a lot of new things to explore.

While an extra day at HS gives you an extra chance to do RoTR, it also gives you another day to do Tower of Terror, Rock'n Roller Coaster, Mickey and Minnie's, Toy Story Mania (I could play all day until my arm falls off), and Slinky Dog Dash.
