I am unspoiled on the details of this ride. I just want to know if it involves being in an enclosed space with lots of people. Trying to keep my grandchildren out of those situations. Thanks.

Even though you get a boarding group, the queue is long and mostly indoors. We still waited about an hour in line after our group was called. There were a couple of areas where they have you bunched up together although maybe not quite as close as Haunted Mansion.

This ride does have enclosed rooms, however, these rooms are larger than other rides at the parks.

When we visited in June, I felt much more comfortable space wise on this ride than any other at Disney.

However, the queue is as close as any other queue on any ride in Disney. The queue can be long like other rides.

For the ride, you move through several different rooms and experiences where you can control the distance you are to people until you get to your transport vehicle which seats 6. The vehicle is like the vehicles at Men in Black at Universal Studios.

It is very difficult not to have people in close proximity indoors or outdoors at Walt Disney World right now. This is based on our last six days in the parks. It is normal Disney crowd levels this time of year and zero social distancing. Just be aware of that. Then it comes down to your comfort level and risk tolerance for the kiddos

ROTR is probably one of the better for social distancing, but there are queues where people will be on your back most likely and there are some enclosed spaces with people but that is pretty much like every ride at Disney right now. Also, it’s not a given that you will get a Boarding group for ROTR. Make sure you research how to get one. They literally disappear in two seconds at 7 AM the morning of your HS day. There is a second chance at 1 PM if you have already entered Hollywood studios at some point that day

my tip is to go into the AT AT screen on the MDE app and start refreshing two seconds before 7 AM and as soon as the join button shows up hit it and then hit join on the next screen and the next one as soon as possible

I think ROTR is one of the better rides for distancing, but you can be put on a vehicle with other people depending on how many are in your group.

I Don’t think there’s anyone who has tried harder to keep a young child distanced than we have and I will tell you, it just won’t work all the time unless you skip out on most everything. You can minimize it though, just takes work and being vigilant.

I think anyone going to WDW or anywhere else should know that there will be crowds and there will be unvaccinated people their. There will also be people with other viruses and people with covid symptoms(I would hope not). It's always been a virus soup and probably more so now with crowding and lack of people eating attractions, stores, and food venues. I wish it were different but if I was concerned I probably wouldn't go at this time.

Quick question… when you say “refresh” do you mean pull down (or swipe down might be a better term) on the AT-AT screen?

Once you have already entered the AT-AT screen, what I am referring to is pulling down to refresh the screen. Just keep pulling down to refresh as quickly as possible and as soon as you see Join hit that button, and join again, and I can’t remember if there is a third Join or not.

Also, my Verizon cellular service is much faster than the resorts Wi-Fi so I turned the Wi-Fi off on my phone while trying for a boarding group..

But do test both the night before and just before 7 am. My experience at CBR was that data was faster the evening before, so that’s what I was prepared to use. I checked about 10 minutes before 7 am, WiFi was faster, so I used it and got our BG. The only thing I can think of was a lot of guests were streaming that night and not the next morning.

Thanks to all for the perspectives. All good data points. We will definitely form a perimeter with the kids inside. Their mother will make the final decision.

Your unvaccinated grandchildren are at lower risk than you are.
