Is Roger Rabbit still around?

I know the ride is still in Toontown, but is Roger Rabbit still around for photos and autographs?

Someone from the boards told me he was "retired" when I asked about him a few months ago. I was still on the look out for him during our May trip, but we didn't see him.

We saw no Roger Rabbit charcaters of any description when we were there in December.

I have not seen him in a long, long time.

I haven't seen him in the parks since before ToonTown opened. But then again I didn't visit that often between 1984 - 1999.

I have heard there was a big controversy between the owner of Roger Rabbit and Disney in that Disney was not promoting Roger as originally intended or how he was told they would or something to that effect. It sounded as if the discussions may have gotten a little nasty. I don't know if lawyers were involved, but apparently the end result was very little Roger.

I think they should have run with that character and the other Roger Rabbit characters.
