Is recording separate from notifying DVC?

Haha I get it. I called everyday sometimes twice from day 7 on...people have posted quicker times so I felt like why not call. I also had airfare booked without a hotel yet.
 
I have used First American on all of my purchases and Cammy has been fine. I find that Disney has a strange process for loading the points (several steps with different departments and none can give you any information outside of their department). One department told me it would be an additional 3-4 weeks from my call to get my points loaded and they were loaded the next day.

This was an actual error by First American, they didn't send something they were supposed to and admitted that it was their error. Hopefully we won't have to wait an additional 2 weeks for points.
 
Starting to question why I bought into DVC. Getting really frustrated. I called back today and was told that all the points are loaded and ready to go but they can't give me my number and I have to wait to receive it in the mail because they don't have my social security number. Contract was purchased through the timeshare store. There must be a way to get the number. We're trying to book a trip for early November and know we will have to waitlist. Every day counts. Any ideas?
 
Call back and get someone else. I got my number from member accounting. No one ever asked about my social.

I've called back about 3 times already and it's always the same thing. You have to wait for the "packet in the mail"

Last person I talked to got snippy with me and said you were told to wait for the packet 2 days ago :/.

I'm loosing the disney magic...

Are you talking to Member Accounting, option 3 on the phone menu?
 
Definitely option 3. Members Accounting, I called them and was able to get my member number.
 
Here is an update on our situation. We closed three weeks ago and we're still not showing up with Disney yet. DH called someone again yesterday at DVC and he was very helpful and told him they had not received everything from our title company. He's now been in contact with the title company to see what is going on. We've been showing up on the Comptroller site for two weeks. The title company feels someone on their end has dropped the ball somewhere. I am very frustrated. We started this process mid May.
Finally! We are in the system as of Friday. We found someone who would give us our member info and the activation codes to get logged in. There were no points in my account but it made it "real" anyhow! This morning I logged in, not expecting points since it is a weekend and EUREKA! Points are there! Phew, this was a looooonnnnnggg process but for the amount we saved going resale it was worth it!
 
A little update...my contract was not recorded until the end of July, so obviously DVC's side is not in any way connected to when it is recorded.
 
What is the phone number to call?

I'm wondering this too. Our contract was recorded on August 5th so we're only 8 days out but I'd like to get a points transfer to cover my full trip prior to being 11 months out on September 8th so sooner is better than later, especially since I'm in canada and sometimes it takes a while to see any mail from the US

It has been 2 weeks since closing and recording, would we be in the system if I call? If so, do I just call the main dvc number from the website? I'm getting too excited just waiting for the mail to come every day!
