Is Rainforest Cafe THAT bad?

Having trouble finding an adr for our large party of mostly young adults on our AK day. I will keep trying but assuming I can't get anything else, is it that bad here? We went years ago a few times and thought it was fine but haven't been for at least 8 years. We love Sanaa and Boma but don't want to leave the park to eat.

Agree with breaking your party into two smaller groups to try for ADRs in AK. You can also try Touring Plans Reservation Finder to put in two requests for that day to see if any pop up. Also, people will cancel things as it gets closer and they firm up plans, so keep an eye out. If you can get one for part of party, then something may pop up about the same time for the other half, and you could check in together and ask to be seated nearby. Tusker House may be more popular than usual now with ROL package available there.

If you stick with the bottom end of the menu you will be fine... In other words no steak, sea food etc... burgers sandwichs etc. are all ok and sometimes surprisingly good... I would never stoop as low as comparing it to Applebees, I would gladly eat a Bigmac over that.. or to the point I would drive to any fast food chain in a 10 mile radius and even consider gas station food, although years ago they were decent.

Oh, I think their salmon is very good. Just don't put too much of the butter they serve with it on the fish....

We love it, actually have reservations for our June trip..really good food and cheap via Disney standards..

I hate chain restaurants and have never been to another Rainforest, but I started going there before Y&Y was opened in the AK, so I associate it with AK. I am always able to walk up and get a couple of seats at the bar (the only part I've ever used) and had tequlia and nachos. Honestly, its nachos, but they are very good for what they are. Its not a meal you'll remember, but the drinks are strong (at the bar at least) and nachos, quesadillas, or the appetizer combo thing are all completely shareable. I mean, its fried bar food, but its good in its own gross way

We've eaten at both the Rainforest Café in Disney Springs and the one at Animal Kingdom and really liked them very much
We've had breakfast, lunch & dinner there, & it's our "go to" spot at AK.

I would love to get Tusker House or Yak and Yeti. Not having luck with either, that's why I'm getting opinions on RFC.

If you've got a big group, make sure they're all ok with a buffet if you can get Tusker House.

Worked for me in January. There was a 45-50 min. wait. We waited no more than 10 minutes with the Landrys card and no reservation.

It does. I've done it myself, most recently on Thanksgiving Day. Waits were awful but we walked up with our Landry card and got seated in 10 min, above all others, even those with an ADR. No ADR needed with a card.

What I don't know, what size do the cards work for? Is it unlimited party size? Since we are at most 4 I haven't checked that out

They are all the same. It's a chain. No matter where you go, it's the same.

We have used it as a party of 6, 8 and 10 depending on how many tag along on our trips, lol.

We've always enjoyed it. My dh said his steak there was better than the one he had at Skipper canteens. Our service was great on our last visit as well.

My main gripe about Yak and Yeti was the portion sizes were tiny and totally not worth what I paid.

Are you talking about the table service or quick service?

Because when we went to Yak & Yeti table service the portions were large! We got the Chicken Tikka Masala and dh got the Salmon and we could barely finish them.

No the quick service which is nothing like the table service looks like some of the meals are small.

We love rainforest too. Try the one at AK rather than DS it is not as busy and easier to get an ADR. Also try an earlier dinner. Around 4:00. Easier to get reservations that way too
