We are in the planning stages of a trip to WDW. We are planning on staying in FW. It has been many years since my sister and I have went and this would be the 1st trip for her kids (all tweens ages 10-13) and our 1st time staying on-site. I know the only difference between preferred site and a non-preferred is the cable and internet. The internet would basically be a waste because none of us would have time to surf. I've heard that Disney cable has a disney information channel. Would the information channel be useful since it has been a while and Disney has had many, many changes? Thanks in advance for the help on this.

I like the Preferred sites because of the Cable, we like to keep up with the weather as sometimes it changes quickly. The channels do have a lot of disney info them. We have stayed in Full hookup and Preferred and liked them both.

I like both. The only real differnce that I like is that the Preferred loops 100 and 200 perticulay are so close to Pioneer hall. The cable and the internet are nice but I think that we were able to pick up the morning new on our tv to watch what going on :happytv: . Also I would get one of those books that kind of tell you all the exciting things that there are to do. We go down there a couple times a year and there is always something new. I also like to read people trip report to see what people say was good and why they thought it was good. What worked for them.
Good Luck

I like the preferred sites myself because of thier general location in the campground. Of course as they continue to upgrade more loops during renovation, that may not hold true. :confused3

I guess we are one of the few who prefer the full hook up over preferred. We like to be in the area of the pool and meadows area. I think the preferred sites are really close together, but thats just my 2 cents.

I agree. Many of the preferred sites are smaller than the full hook ups, too.

just came back last sat. stayed in the 300 loop it was great close to boat walking wasn't far showers and laundry right behind us bus stop short walk.would do it again also have stayed in 1000 loop close to campfire.

I always try to look at whether I will use what I am paying extra for. Each category of site has a selection of excellent locations depending upon what you are looking for.

Some people mention that they like to be near Pioneer Hall - I wouldn't only for the fact that you have a lot more activity going on at that section of FW. It's really all a personal preference.

I'd say, only pay for what you need. If you don't need cable, then get a Full Hookup. If you don't need the sewer hook-up, then get a basic site.

You will love your stay regardless of where you are within FW.

We like full hook up better. Sometimes the bus can be slow so we walk. It is nice to be in the middle of the park. Also like being close to the pool and store. (900 loop)As far as TV. We watced local channels to get the weather. This is what works for us. :)
