We are checking out of our first resort and can’t check into our second until the afternoon and we were wondering if we could go to another resort, which we haven’t been to, and hang out by the pool until our late afternoon lunch reservation. It isn’t the second resort we are checking into, just another resort we’ve never seen and thought we’d like to check out for a bit. Is pool hopping still a thing? Thanks!

Pool hopping was suspended after the reopening last June and has not been reinstated as of yet. When it was available, there were only a select number of DVC pools that allowed it.

Yes, we are DVC. Can we hang out by the pool before check in of the second resort we are going to?

You can use the pool at the resort that you are checking out of until the end of the day, or once you check into the 2nd resort, you can swim in the pool of the resort that you are checking into. Have fun!

Oh great! I didn’t realize that we could enjoy the pool after we checked out! Thanks!

You can check in at any time; you just might not get into your room until later in the afternoon. You can stay at the first resort all afternoon, or go to the next one in the morning and use those amenities till your room is ready.

What you describe isn't pool hopping. You are checking into that resort that day and you can 100% go there and use the pool on your check in day before your room is ready. Your situation is no different from someone arriving to Disney for the first day of their vacation; you just happen to be on a split stay.

But it is different. He wants to swim at a resort he does not have a RESORT reservation at… just a lunch reservation. Quoting their message “It isn’t the second resort we are checking into, just another resort we’ve never seen and thought we’d like to check out for a bit.
