just booked the poly room only for two nights in March for $709 taxes in....is it worth it??

That is a tough question! We have stayed at WL (3 times), Poly and are going to POR this Jan. We absolutely love WL but I'm glad we stayed at Poly at least once. The proximity to MK as far as transportation is concerned and sitting on the beach area at night watching the MK fireworks and electric parade were awesome! If you are able to do it; I think it is a neat experience personally. I also liked feeling like I was kind of in Hawaii!!

Depends on if you want to spend that much for 2 nights.
We made the mistake of staying there our first trip (2000) and loved it so much we stayed there for every trip.

We did a few split stays to try other resorts but always ending it at the Polynesian.

Thanks...I have no interest in WL ( reminds me of great wolf lodge) and thought now was a good time to try deluxe with 35% off the room rate...we will have DD4,DD6 and DD 8 months old at the time of trip so using the monorail will be great...was debating between poly and AOA suite....hoping I made right choice

I love the Poly. Monorail, tropical atmosphere, volcano pool, firework viewing from the beach....it's definitely my favorite resort.

Depending on when you are going in March, there is a TA that is offering an agency-exclusive rate for certain dates. You do have to book a package though, but their rates cannot be beat. I've used them for my past three trips and am using them for my upcoming trip. The Poly is one of their 'main' resorts, so most of their specials are bookable there.

With kids that age, it's worth it. The rooms are large and the monorail to MK is great.

How much more was club level?

I prefer staying at the Poly, even though the price is 5x a value resort, and 2-3 times a moderate resort. The biggest issue with the values and moderates for me is the bus-only transportation. When we stayed at CBR, we spent what seemed like inordinate amounts of time waiting for and riding buses. When we tried one of the Pop resorts, it was even worse due to the sheer number of people at those resorts. The connectivity of the two monorail lines, both a short walk from my room at the Poly, make it so much more relaxing to me.

Well for comparrison my DW had no expectations on what Disney would be other than her personal opinion that she was not overly interested in it for herself.

Poly - Fell in love!!! We're going back with our two kids this year as she loves seeing her children's enjoyment of it all more than anything.

I asked her if she'd be willing to try another resort like WL from a cost perspective and she said no outright.

Reasons
- Using the busses with two under 3 and a double stroller
- Overall experience and how the resort makes her feel
- She LOVES the pressed coffee at Kona Cafe
- Ease of access to the resort from just about anywhere

Not sure if this makes your decision easier but it's our reasons for choosing it over others.
