I say yes. :) Especially since I eat mine meatless, so I don't get all the extra fat from the pepperoni or sausage.

Yeah, so the cheese has fat - it also has calcium, which women need to fend off osteoporosis.

I vote pizza is a healthfood. :teeth:

I second that.

I also say chocolate is healthy since it's made from cocoa BEANS and beans are very healthy :teeth:

I'm right there with ya! Calcium, licopene (sp) olive oil, enriched flour, veggies... I too try to keep the greasy stuff off of it, ham is the only meat I add on occasion.

I agree, and I think we should eat it every day. And beer is healthy too,
it's made from grains. And wine is made from grapes.

I think I know what's for dinner!!

I make homemade pizza, and it actually is quite healthy. I use mainly whole wheat flour, and I don't put any over-processed, highly-salted meats on it. Sometimes I add roasted chicken, but other than that, it's just veggies. Some people consider regular cheese to be unhealthy, but I don't. I think that we need some fats from wholesome foods in our diets so that our bodies can get the most out of fat soluable vitamins.

Now the frozen Totino's pizzas that my DH would like me to buy are a different story. :teeth:

Amen! Set a place at the dinner table for me!

Of course it is! At least what I tell myself as I eat 4 slices. :earseek:

Pizza is my favorite food! :love:

And yes its healthy, it contains all the major food groups, it has:

Calcium = Cheese
Protein = Peperoni, Sausage
Vegetables = :teeth: Vegetables
Fiber = Dough
Fat = my fat rump!

I could eat pizza every day! One year we ordered so much pizza that when given the choice what my kids wanted to eat they would say anywhere but pizza. :earseek: :earseek:

Pizza has the food groups covered, doesn't it ? Dairy...Veggies...Meats...Breads...How could it not be healthy ?

:teeth:

Healthy? Well, healthier than a lot of other things, but not the greatest.

I make my own. The dough is unbleached flour, olive oil, water, salt, a pinch of sugar, and yeast.

The sauce is tomatoes, minced onion, garlic, majoram, basil, salt and pepper, and more olive oil.

I top it with part-skim mozzarella and fresh basil.

There's some fat in the cheese and olive oil. There's also a lot of carbs. And bottom line a lot of calories. I actually spent the time to figure it out once, and there are over 400 calories per slice using my recipe. :earseek: :earseek:

pizza can be very healthy. it is a complete protein. and if you limit the crust(whole wheat is better) and limit your cheese. it can be very healthy. now we are not talking about that cheese filled thick crust stuff!! :teeth:

If nothing else, its good for my mental health. :teeth:

Pizza is probably one of the worst things you can eat.

Actually, it's far from being horrible for you provided you make wise choices.

Lay off lots of cheese and fatty meats, boost up the veggies and it's not bad

And I can name a bunch of stuff much worse for you..#1 anything deep fried

As far as I'm concerned ANY food is healthy if eaten in moderation. 1 slice of pizza with a salad, nothing wrong with that. 1/2 pizza all by yourself....not so healthy. McDonalds I buy a happy meal with water to drink. Now if you buy a combo meal and supersize it...not too good. Pizza and McD's are allowed on WW so I say if it's good enough for WW it's good enough for me.
