Hi all,

POTC worth the $$$? That's alot of :mickeybar Mickey bars!

My wife and I would love to do this for our Disneymoon if several of the fellow DIS'ers have had a nice experience.

$200 for a 2 1/2 hour cocktail party? Yeah, I'm going to need some reassurance before this fool and his money are parted.

It really is more than a cocktail party, it really is dinner with entertainment, we went last year and really enjoyed it, there were maybe 20 food stations, with all kind of food, from Lobster to lamb, to foie gras, it was fun to try everything, there were some great wines, champagne, brandy, beer, and cirque du soleil was performing, we found it to an incredible evening and wished we could go again this year....

christinou said it very well.

We had the same concerns last year before we attended our first PFTS.
The food, wine, and entertainment made it the best value for any 'meal' we had the entire trip.
We left the event stuffed to the gills, somewhat tipsy (possibly an understatement, but the details are a bit fuzzy....), and got to see several of the Cirque acts perform. :drinking:

If you like trying new food, and enjoy wine, it is a good deal.

There are some reviews at the allearsnet website. You can look in the review section for reviews of the 2005 event. There's lots of info along with articles/reviews of other years under: Theme Parks/Epcot/Special Events/ Food & Wine Festival.

We went last year, and loved it so much, we are going again this year! My DH was skeptical, but he was so impressed with the whole evening...the entertainment by Cirque Du Soleil really takes it to the next level. There are many people who go several times during the F&W Festival.

If you are not adventurous diners, it may not be worth the money for you to attend. A group of us usually go once during our Oct. trip. This year some of us decided to go twice. The food is not what you will normally find in any of the restaurants or at any of the festival food booths. I am not a wine drinker and I still enjoy it (as long as I can find the Sam Adams booth).

Personally, I like it a lot better than a sitdown served meal, but that is just me.

I have a chance to go to three of them (!) and I might do it since I'm staying with DVC and won't have a bill for the room.

No it is absolutely not worth the money - don't go!!!

OK - it really is - I just want to be able to get tickets easier!

It has gone a little downhill in the past few years, as they have packed in a lot more people, and therefore the lines for the individual "kitchens" are a little longer, but still, I think it is really worth the $$$ and quite an enjoyable evening.

Try and plan on eating your meal over the full time allotted, and taking the time to chat with the chefs and vitners. The idea of the evening is to combine unique tastings and learn at the same time. The entertainment is a nice diversion, but the food and wine are the stars of the night.

One other thing - grab a seat the minute you get in the door... seems that some cast members can't count... last year there were more people than chairs.

:thanks:

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I feel confident now that we should do this especially since its a one time (period) a year thing.

Tickets go on sale July 31st right?

Yes tickets go on sell July 31. I just wish they would release the dates for all of the events!
