I am planning on buying tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I would prefer to go the day I arrive, and not use a day's park admission(since I am arriving late afternoon). Do you need to have been in the park the day you attend the party? I know for E Nights that you need to have entrance to the park along with your ticket.

We found that by arriving around 5:00pm they were only requiring the MNSSHP party ticket.

Per www.wdwig.com:
Each year Mickey hosts a Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom. This is a hard ticket event -- meaning you need to purchase a separate ticket for entry (just like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party). The Magic Kingdom is transformed into a fun spooky haven for trick-or-treaters of all ages.

Also:
Halloween Night always sells out in advance, so get your tickets early.

If this year is like past years (which it may or may not be depending on security needs), your MNSSHP ticket will get you into MK after 4pm. Between 6pm and 7pm, when the event officially starts, NSSHP guests will move on to Fantasyland to allow for clearing and setup in the rest of the park.

Okay, I thought I understood how this works, but this is news to me:
If this year is like past years (which it may or may not be depending on security needs), your MNSSHP ticket will get you into MK after 4pm.
Does this mean that you can get into the park and use the rides, etc. from 4:00 on? I thought you could only get in before the party if you had PS for dinner? Can someone clarify this? (I hope it's true)

When the tickets will go on sale? Have been the last couple of years and don't want to miss this year...already have my ressies for the room.

Yes, it's called a mix-in. The idea is to keep there from being a huge line at the turnstiles from 6-8 by allowing guests to trickle in starting at 4. It has been done the last two years, but *BIG BUT* may not happen this year, depending on security needs. Please check with Guest Relations closer to the time of your night.

Is it worthwhile to fly in a day earlier to go on October 30(Thursday) rather than the 31(Friday)? Will it be much less crowded?
