So I have read about Pal Mickey and thought how cool my kids would love that. But I saw it was around $65 so I looked on Ebay and there's some and they can make it to my mom's house before we head to DW. I would be paying around $23 plus shipping. Is it worth it to try to get it? DO you really get that much out of it. We aren't going to be frequent visitors so I wasn't sure!

There have been MANY Pal Mickey discussions on this board.

There are hundreds of responses.

Just do a SEARCH for Pal Mickey and read the "wisdom of the Dis".

The short answer is:
I and many others here like Pal Mickey and take him to the parks nearly every day we are there.
There are others who don't care one way or the other, and a few who think he costs too much and does not do enough.

That about sums it up.

Hi Tammy - a little while ago, you could get last year's Pal Mickey for about $13 plus shipping and handling from the Disney Character Outlet store in Orlando. I ended up getting two of them to give to my stepsons during our trip to WDW last week. They really loved them! You may want to give the store a call to see if they still have them. The number is (407) 477-0222. The only difference between this year's and last year's model is this year's has a bow tie - my stepsons never noticed the difference and they download the same info. Again, they loved Pal Mickey and we bought them lanyards so they could wear them around their necks - they looked adorable! If the $13 wasn't available, I probably would have splurged on one $65 Pal Mickey to share with the whole family. He really is a lot of fun. Have a great trip!

Not if he smokes weed. Sorry..don't mean to hijack, just came from another 6 page thread..... :-)

I think they are cute, and not overpriced for the technology used.

That said- I bought on last May and used it during our trip. When we went back in Dec, it never left the room once.

As an adult, I just didn't feel like carrying it around.

I sold mine on eBay. :teeth:

We bought one at full price last January when we went...here's my opinion summed up:

Did we like him? Yes
Will we take him again? Yes
Will we probably leave him in the room more next trip? Yes
Is he worth $65? Not in my opinion
Is he worth $25? I think so

The one benefit of Pal Mickey is that he IS good for every time you go...the one souvenier that's good for a trip BACK to the parks!!

I just bought one for DS for his bday in January. My opinion, if we were just going on a trip say for a week and not going back for awhile then I probably wouldn't of gotten him. Since we have AP's and go at least once a week, I thought he was worth it because we will be using it over and over again.

$65 is nothing in Disney - I mean I just bought a jacket down there for $60 ...

A couple months ago i found msg on this board about the belz mall and disney warehouse , in orlando. I called them up and found the older version for $13.00. Needless to say i bought 2 of them. With shipping and handling it was $37.00 for both of them. The only diff from my understanding is the new version wears a tux and has a little more sayings in his chip. Have never used him in the park. My nephew is there as we speak so sent him along with him for a trial run.

No there is not a website for this store in of the above post there is a phone number. when i called i asked them about a website and they said they did not have one. I asked because was interested to see what other items they had. :3dglasses :cool1:

We got one free fromt he Wayne Brady Show when he taped a while back at Epcot. Everyone in the audience got a pal mickey when you exited the show. We've used it a few times. I, myself wasn't that impressed with him. He's bulky to carry around. Half the time he spoke, I never heard it. (Crowd too loud.) If you have a times guide with you, you already know the times of the shows. My son likes the games to pass the while waiting in line. We've brought it with us three times. By the end of the day, he ended up in the basket of the stroller since no one wanted to carry him. I know I'm in the minority as I have seen so many ppl at the park using him and loving it.

My four-year-old grandson loves his Pal Mickey. He thinks the jokes are hilarious and was always excited to hear what Mickey has to say when we were in the parks.

When we did the Family Magic Tour, we were all given name-tags at the beginning. My grandson said to the guide "But where's Mickey's name-tag??" The guide made up another name-tag that said "Mickey" and stuck it on, and my grandson was so pleased.

:earsboy: We bought ours for DS at XMAS 2003! I think they first came out as EVERYONE in the parks either asked about P.M. or just starred at us as my DS carried him everywhere. DH & I are going withOUT the kids in Jan and I going to take P.M. with us. Yes, if there are huge crowds he is hard to hear BUT he does also tell you TRIVIA all throughout the Parks. He knows each Park he is going into. DS was always worried about water rides about P.M. getting wet. But still it is a great little gimmick...leave it to WDW. When we got home, and out of the Parks, P.M. will tell just his jokes over and over again. I think their are made very well. Go ahead BUY ONE!!! :earsboy: momrek06

Well we just got ours off Ebay for little $ :cool1: and my DD opened it today and LOVED IT! She is 11yrs old by the way and we aren't even at Disney yet and she just adores it. He is the most adorable thing....we can't wait to see how he responds in the parks because he is great just at home.

My grandson age (3) and I each got one on our trip this last October. The new Pal Mickey speaks a little louder than the old one. We loved ours. He said so much trivia in the parks. When we were in AK he would tell us a little trivia
about the animals. When my grandson was in line to meet Minnie at camp Mickey-Minnie Mickey got so excited and started shacking even harder than usual he said something like "Minnie's nearby. Can you feel my heart beating fast.'"
When we were living HISTA at MGM. Mickey said,"I am glad we are out of there. Did you see that big snake? I thought he was going to eat this mouse."

Now that we are home. Mickey sits right next to my computer and I listen to his jokes and songs a few times a day.
I love my Pal Mickey!

For $20 it is definitely worth it. We got two also at the character outlet for $13 each and my kids 6 and 9 played with for them two months before even going to WDW. That alone was worth the price. When we got to the parks, we did not bring him every day but when we did it was and fun added dimension. He was a little heavy for the kids to carry. I wore him on my belt which was perfect height for the kids to hear him giggle and say something. See the attached photo:

For me, I didn't even know he was on me. I'll admit there were things he said that even I didn't know, especially at EPCOT. And c'mon he is sooo cute!!

I agree completely with this summary (we only paid $13 each for our 2)
