Is Ohana worth OOP?

Hello. I have two kids 10, and 7 and dh and I. Unfortunately this makes my daughter a disney adult. We are going completely OOP this trip and wondering if Ohana is worth our big splurge meal. Most of our meals will be counter service, snacks and just eating back at our condo because we get tired of eating out.

We are going to MK twice on this trip and I'm considering making our second MK day end around 5 and heading over to Ohana for an early dinner. First seating if possible. After eating is the firework show good from the poly beach?

Thanks,
Debbie

DEFINITELY worth it!! If we weren't doing the Free Dining trip, I would pay for it in a heartbeat! Not sure about the view from the beach for Wishes though, but I'm sure somebody will chime in with that for you:surfweb:

We went for the first time this July and whether on the dining plan or OOP in the future, it is a must do restaurant for our family. We absolutely loved it!

We have hated the last couple of visits and would not pay OOP for this at all. For slightly more money I would much rather have a better meal, better atmosphere and much better service.

<3 Ohana's. You can see the Electric Light Water Pagent from the beach. Some of the trees block Wishes. Better view from Ohana's for Wishes.

Is well worth it for breakfast or dinner we have free dining and fireworks is great from the beach and if your at O Hana's later is good from a window view as well:dance3:

DH and I went for our first time in February and I think it is definitely worth it! They have a fun coconut race for the kids that was so cute and the food is great. I am not sure about the fireworks question though, sorry. I say go and have a great time!

Outside of just the food choices would you guys say that it is a fun experience for kids?

I have a 5 p.m. dinner scheduled thinking we would go to the beach and watch wishes but now I'm wondering if we should schedule a later dinner to watch wishes from inside? Are all tables good wishes views or is the luck of the draw? :confused3

My question about Wishes from the beach is when are you going? Wishes is usually around 9:00 (though some times it is 8:00) and you wanted an early sitting around 5:00. Dinner won't take that long, so what will you do after dinner and before Wishes?

I would try for an ADR around 7:00, but please know that is prime time and getting an ADR then will be difiicult.

Only for a first time experience and if you all have really good appetites. The food is OK (but the dessert is really good) and the entertainment is hokey.

We have paid OOP for all but 1 meal at 'Ohana over the past 5 years, and will absolutely do it again! We love the food and atmosphere!
My boys have always enjoyed at least a few things from the feast, and I've never heard any complaints from anyone. The bread pudding is AMAZING. You WILL leave full!!
Good luck!

Similiar to the OP, this will be our first time eating here except we are on the FD plan. Somewhere I remember reading you might get seated in a small room and not in the main dining area? Is there something you need to request prior to being seated so you don't get "stuck"?

I vote yes - We are going down in 3 weeks and not using the DP, and Ohana is our first night meal. The location is great, food is yummy, drinks are awesome and no words for the dessert!! :lovestruc
