Is Ohana worth it?

I think we will try and get a reservation when the time comes. Most of the responses seem favorable, and my husband really wants to try it.

Just ate at Ohana for dinner for the 1st time on 4/3/16. Going in I had read many mixed reviews. Decided to give it a try for my DD's 16th b-day dinner so we could watch Wishes from Poly afterwards. I would love to say that we enjoyed it, but unfortuantely, that was not the case for us.

The bread and salad were good, but that was all IMO. The noodles and veggies had potential, but were cold, as was everything else. The steak was way undercooked (quite red) for my liking and was room temperature to cold. Chicken may have been ok if not cold. One shrimp skewer we got was hot off of the fire and had to wait to peel them, but that was the extent of hot food for the entire meal.

My husband seemed to enjoy the bread pudding (I think it was) dessert, but that is not my taste, so I did not even try it. Brought cupcakes for the kids that were so dry (almost seemed frozen then thawed out).

Again, this was just our experience and my opinion. I read where others love it! To me though, the sign of a good restaurant is a consistency of good food. Ohana seems to have alot of inconsistencies with the food and for the price, should be great all the time. My family will not be returning.

How disappointing. :( I do think it's the luck of the draw. I've never had a bad meal there, but I absolutely don't believe that reviews like yours are false/hyperbolic, either. I still recommend it, because I love it, but with reservations.

Very good point about a good restaurant being consistent.

We went on March 26th for the first time and everyone in our party loved it! Every item was delicious and we left stuffed. It was definitely worth it and the best meal of the entire trip. We loved everything about it - the food, atmosphere, games, etc. I highly recommend it!

Why would a grammatical error lessen the validity of anyone's opinion? What if someone refers to it as Ohana?
It is a mistake that is often made, and by people who are incredibly knowledgeable Disney folks. Please get a chuckle on my errors all over the DIS, and feel free to disregard any information that I share due to the errors. Between my not being able to type worth a hoot, and my auto correct got full speed ahead on my devices, you will have plenty to find valid.

Holy Moley it was just a joke people. Sheeeeesh

I always think that folks should try any restaurant that interests them, disregarding any negative reviews. Everyone of us has our own personal tastes and opinions in regards to food and service, and when you factor that a restaurant may have a bad day, well..... you can see that what my have been a terrible experience for one is a lovely time for another.

My family likes Chef Mickey and while we do not go every trip, it is on our regular rotation. Read those reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! If we used them to make our final decision we never would get there!
