Is Ohana worth it?

Odd, We went in August, and we seemed to have our best experience....We've always had great servers, but Rosa was on her game AGAIN that trip!!...We sat right in the middle 1st table from the fire pit area.... Love this place... Once again anyplace can have off days of course, but out of the 8 or 9 times eaten here, we've never experienced it.:confused3

We always schedule dinner and the family has never been disappointed, but holy horrible in August!

It is our family's favorite restaurant!

Waits can be long, I'd suggest an earlyish reservation time.

We went to 'Ohana for the first time last week and everyone agreed that it was our favorite meal of the entire trip. I loved the salad, noodles and vegetables, wings, potstickers, chicken, and bread pudding especially. We came out stuffed and satisfied. The coconut race and live music were fun too. I highly recommend it and it has most likely earned a spot on our must-do list.

We love Ohana!

Our last visit was in June 2015 and everybody loved it. We have Brazilian steakhouses in our home city that are more expensive than Ohana ($45-50 per adult) so the cost seems fairly reasonable considering it's a Disney restaurant!

Compared to local Brazilian steakhouses we've been to, the focus at Ohana seems to be less on the meat and more on the sides. We love the pot stickers, noodles and bread pudding and those are actually what would make us return vs. the meats themselves. The last time we went, the meats were great and we especially loved the shrimp, but for us what make the meal "worth it" is the atmosphere, location (we love to start off our trip with Ohana and MK!) and sides/dessert!

We don't do Ohana every single trip, but when we do we have never been disappointed.

We love 'Ohana but I'm not sure it lives up to the hype. Waits are often long, and the food is hit or miss, but when it is on, it makes for a great night. We love the whole 'Ohana means family' bit, and the warm atmosphere. I think it is worth the money, but is definitely not the best food we've eaten. That said, we like to go every trip and look forward to it.

We like 'Ohana dinner. We've had great experiences and just average experiences. As for worth...that's on you.

We have always been to 'Ohana every trip - however our last trip it was awful. The noodles and veggies were cold, the shrimp was tough, and the meat was just OK - our server couldn't keep up - we were seated within 5 minutes of arrival (we had an early reservation) We were seated at the same time with a family of 4 beside us.- they had their food way before us - we actually had to ask for stuff. We were constantly asking for refills or more food, the only good thing about the entire meal was the bread pudding.

We have always loved it - but we will be skipping it on our next trip :(

That dessert looks amazing but I have to ask. What is bread pudding like? My hubs has a nut allergy, would he not be able to have some of it?

I think so, but as always, Disney Chefs will be the best resource. Advise you server about the allergy. The CHef will be sure you are safe.

My husband asked if I wanted to try Ohana on our next visit. I looked at the menu, and the food looks like it might be good. However, it seemed expensive compared to some of the other dinner buffets we went to on our 2014 trip. Is Ohana dinner worth the money?
All of the dinner buffets have gone up in price. I think it is pretty much the same as any other character experience, although it's not characters... it is somewhat of an experience different than a regular buffet.

Couldn't disagree more with this statement. Admittedly taste is very subjective, but comparing 'Ohana to Golden Corral? That is very much a stretch IMO. The food is generally very good (although I have been there on an off night once or twice). The atmosphere and entertainment are what truly set it apart from other restaurants. There is a reason it is consistently a very difficult reservation to get at WDW. It's immense popularity is no coincidence. Disney could easily charge more for this restaurant and people would still go. Let's hope they don't though! lol

Atmosphere, marketing sells, especially when you have a captive audience of about 200,000 +- tourist at WDW on a given day.

Very worth it !! Food is fantastic. And you can't compare ohana to golden corral that is just dumb and insane. That's like comparing macys to the dollar store . Look into getting the dinning plan as well

O'hana is not worth it, however the Bread Pudding is.

The meat at O'hana is extremely dry, to the point you could choke on it. We are going back on our next trip and asking for the dessert only. Regarding the Golden Corral comments, personally I find Golden Corral's food to be better than what we had at O'hana (the meat anyway). The salad is good too, gotta give it some credit.

We enjoy it, but I agree that it's expensive. I would pay it for me and DH. No way would I pay the adult price for my 10 year old DD.

They won't serve you bread pudding without paying for the whole meal. You can, however, get the bread pudding at the neighboring tambu lounge. good luck!
