Is October a busy month?

sorry just checking new features. Ignore

We are DVC members and there are no rooms availible at any of the resorts for our dates Oct23-29 :earseek: .Luckily we booked in early enough to get a room. But it is kinda worrying me a little.DVC has said that it is going to be very busy.

We will be at ASMo 10-22 to 10-27... Hoping not that crowded. I was advised this is not a busy time to go... Also, dont let the crowds at MNSSHP stop you... from what I have read.. most/ if not all rides are walk-ons. We are doing the party on 10-23.

I will be there the same week as you and I am preparing myself for some large crowds but I am hoping it won't be. I know there are a couple of large conventions going on, so I suppose it will depend on if all those convention people bring their families. I will also be at the party on the 23rd. I am hoping it won't be too crowded on a Sunday night. I went on the Friday before Halloween in 2000 and it was mobbed. I still enjoyed it though.

I don't think it's going to be bad. We gone twice at the end of October and thought it was very manageable both years (2002 and 2003). Going again this year and doing MNSSHP on the Friday before Halloween. Is it really bad crowd wise on that night? We did a Sunday last time and it was so nice. Friday is the only day we can fit it in this time so we'll have to make the best of it!

I thought free dinning was only thru the 1st week of October??? Let me know if I'm wrong, my family is going the 9th-15th and we paid for the dinning.
The last day to check in and get free dining is the 4th but people could stay up to 10 nights on that deal I think. So, I guess the last possible day is the 14th. We'll be there the 3rd- 13th with free dining. :flower:

In addition to all the reasons mentioned above, more and more school systems are starting to take fall breaks in addition to spring breaks. We are headed down mid October because my son has a fall break this year.

I went last year during the lst week of October. Crowds at the theme parks were managable during the weekdays but weekends were much more crowded. Epcot was very busy on the weekends becasue of Food & Wine Festival.

Wow!!! I was figuring on crowds lower than summer but higher than 1st week of December. Now it sound's like it will be near-summer levels, just without the heat!

I should have known, though. For a few days I thought my travel agent discount was going to fall through (I made an error) and was starting to look for moderate resorts we could switch to. All were sold out, the best I could do was either All Stars, WL, or Poly. GF was showing sold out, which amazes me as it is so expensive, but I guess if there is a convention then it could truely be full.

It should have also tipped me off when my itinerary planner at GF conceirge had trouble getting some of the PS times that I requested a bit late (around the 80 day mark) and could get me the Segway tour at all!

I guess I'll bring those Unofficial Guide touring plans after all!

October news seems to be getting worse day by day-- three resorts sold out of standard rooms in the last couple of days for the dates we needed in the middle of October. That's what we get for procrastinating. We were hoping to get POFQ for OCT 13, 14, 15 -- sold out between yesterday and today. AKL standard also. Not much else left for us to do but book CB and hope to snag someone's POFQ or WL cancellation later, if we can get so lucky. Or maybe just bite the offsite bullet and book the Sheraton Safari, or try out Priceline.

It's starting to seem like it's going to be the most crowded it's been in October in a long time, maybe ever.

October 5-10 will be the third time we've been to WDW in October and we love it. The temperature is usually more manageable (mid-80's), but no one can control that. Mother Nature will do what she wants.

Usually the crowds are minimal except for Columbus Day weekend. Even then the parks aren't bad in the morning. We're usually done and leaving by noon to do some swimming at the resort and then on to Epcot to eat and drink our way around the WS anyway. The crowds are coming in as we leave. WS crowds aren't that bad, except on the weekend, but even then they are manageable.

Thank you for some good news! This thread is giving me an anxiety attack! I hope the first week in oct will be good! Good luck to all! :goodvibes
