Should we do Animal Kingdom the 1st day since it's a small park & we're only going to ride: Dinosaur, the Safari and Khali Rapids??

I am not sure if I would like to finally get to Magic Kingdom after all these years-
get there late (1230/1pm) and leave a few hours later (430pm) to check in hotel.
Kinda stinks-when would i get my full day of Magic Kingdom?? Should we do Magic King. eve of Saturday and Full Day of MK on Sunday?

Really need help w/ this one. It's bothering me for days, can't stop trying to figure out the solid schedule so i can make Priority Seating!
HELP!:earseek: :hyper:

Hi,
We went to WDW for christmas 2003 for six days....We thought that we would need a full day for Animal Kingdom, it took us a half of a day to do that park.....We did that the first day that we were there, we decided to check out DTD....So we took our half day but of course we had to go back before we left to do some more shopping.....I would make sure i did a full day of Magic Kingdom some where in the schedule....That is my favorite park....
I think if i was going back i would do Animal Kingdom the first day just because we do that park in a half day time....Also Chef Mickey we love....My boys love that restaurant.....The food and deserts are excellent....I would just make sure you have time for meal time because we had a 6 o'clock ps and we didn't get in until 7 o'clock....I don't know if it will be busy when you go but it was busy when we went....It was well worth the wait.....

What hotel are you staying at? The only thing I see is the time you allow between leaving a park for your hotel and then getting somewhere for dinner... depending on attendance, etc. It can take awhile to get between places. Even the park will tell you to allow atleast an hour between things. Ie; if you are in MK (even at the entrance) and want a PS in MGM or EPCOT, give atleast an hour they suggest an 1 1/2. Transportation can take awhile. Last week the boats where down and only two monorails where running. We carried a bag with kids clothes/lotion/wipes/powder to "bathe" in the bathroom... wiped down with wipes (baby or otherwise), brushed hair, changed, put on some powder or spray and felt pretty good. =o)

If you're staying at a Disney resort check into your hotel right away. They will store your luggage for you if your room isn't ready. This way you do not have to leave MK (or whatever park you go to first) in order to check in.

You're also leaving Epcot and MGM early in order to go back to MK in the evening. I would recommend stayng for Illuminations (Epcot) and Fantasmic (MGM) at closing time of those parks. They are "don't miss" shows. This also gives you a full day in each park so yo udon't have to feel rushed to see everything. Change your meal plans to eat dinner at those parks (Epcot is full of great restaurants).

If you have young kids do Chef Mickey's for a character breakfast. Perhaps you can do this on your TL day.

If you're staying on site give some thought to taking advantage of EMH if you'll get up early enough. (Keep an eye on this site to see what Disney does with their test of evening EMH).

We have always found that Sunday morning is by far the BEST time to go to MK. Get there at opening and you can get more accomplished on a Sunday morning that any other time.

yes where are you staying and what kinds of Tix do you have? Also who's going and when are you going? You seem to be doing a heck of alot of hopping.........

That aside....

skip lunch at LTT, eat at Pecos Bills instead. LTT is the best characture interaction around, but they arent there at lunch. Pecos Bills is the best counter service in all of WDW dont miss it.

Spend Tuesday at MK

Use all of friday for Epcot. Have a late breakfast somehwere around the boardwalk. We love Spoodles. Then head over to the back entrence of Epcot for the WS which opens at 11am. You will have the WS all to yourselves and get through before 2. Then have a let lunch and do the front of epcot as everyone else is making their way back to the WS. Book dinner at Rose and Crown for 7-7:30 and stay for illuminations.

:hyper:
We have 5 day hopper pass. I have to get my 1 extra day from trip in '99
upgraded to 5 day pass)

We are staying off site on 192.

I never went to Epcot at night. Is it worth it?? I am so hung up on MK.

Also, i never went to illuminations - and what is fantasmic?? is it really really
worth it? (bec. i love mk at night)

Thank you!!!!!:bounce:

Since your staying off site with 5 day hoppers. try to eat at the resorts on non big park days, like arrival and waterpark days.

So move Chef Mickeys and/or ohana to the TL day. Id probably do CM for breakfast before TL and ohana after for dinner.

Dont duplicate your places so much either. Instead of ohana one night eat at whispering canyon over at WL. Loads of fun and georgus resort to visit. On Thurs, stay close and have dinner at the Cape May Clam Bake over at the BC.
