We were planning on going the week of Veterans Day this year and was wondering a few things about MVMCP. Is it worth the $? My oldest daughter will be 10 which means she will be an adult this year so the $ adds up quick. We did not think that MNSSHP was worth the $ at Disneyland so I just wanted opinions on MVMCP. Thanks!

ABSOLUTELY!!! We love it so much that we are going 2 nights this Dec. The parade is amazing (especially at night) and can only be seen at the MVMCP. The Christmas shows with the characters are alot of fun! There are cocoa and cookies for all party guests. There are tons of character photos opportunities and it's a great time to get pics with the characters in their Christmas gear. you also receive one free family photo and HUGE discount on photopass photos the night of the party (40%). The fireworks show is almost as amazing as the P&PP fireworks. best of all....the lines are SHORT! Most rides are walk-on and if they aren't walk on, the wait is under 15 minutes (Even for Peter Pan) We are going one night to see all of the shows, characters and parades and a second night to take full advantage of the rides. although, we will probably see the parade and fireworks both nights. It is truly a fairy tale Christmas party!

Wow! It sounds great. I didn't know about the free family photo either. We are a family that is also wondering if it is worth it only because we will have our almost three year old twins with us. This will be past their bedtime, but I am willing to try a late night during the trip. Our 9 year old would love it with the snow and all. Has anyone taken toddlers and how did they do?

They don't do free family photos anymore. Not for a couple of years now at least.

We used to do MVMCP every trip, but lately it just hasn't been worth it. Their crowd control is horrible and totally ruined it for us. They used to empty the park first, then let party guests in. Now they do it at the same time, so walking up Main Street with snow is a terrible, crowded experience with thousands of day guests lingering to enjoy it on their way out. They also sell more tickets now than they used to so everything feels very crowded.

They got rid of the photo, the free treats are bad quality, and the parade runs during the day, too, if you're there on the right days in December.

I don't want to rain on your parade, so to speak. If you've never done it before, you might like it, but for us it just got to the point where it was more disappointing and annoying than not.

We went last year and really enjoyed it, much more than MNSSHP the year before. Maybe because we had no expectations (after being disappointed with MNSSHP), but we liked it and would do it again.

But honestly, we really enjoyed Osborne Lights which was "free" (we get hopper passes) and a really neat thing to see. So if money is an issue, skip the party and enjoy the Osborne Lights instead. :thumbsup2

We went last november and loved it, and are planning on doing it again this yr, so i would say it was worth it!!

The parade and shows were fantastic, something my 3 yr old still talks about today, i didnt think the hot chocolate and cookies were that bad and were a nice treat on what turned out to be a cold night.

The night we went wasnt very busy either , the only crowds we saw were at 7pm when everyone was trying to leave who didnt have tickets but the cm's had it all well managed all the rides were a wlk on which meant once the boys feel asleep in their stollers we could take turns on the thrill rides withough anyone having to stand about for too long.

hth

We went in 2006 but don't plan to go in 2008. It was okay. We did have a good time but I have to admit we didn't see alot of the festivities, we rode rides! DH had been complaining that week about the time spent meeting characters and seeing shows, so that night we took advantage of the no-waits and rode several things in quick succession. So to make DH happy it was probably worth it.

The late night was rough though. My girls were 5 and 8. They fell asleep in the stroller. The 8yo was up to walk to the bus and into the hotel at midnight but the 5yo had to be carried. Not easy!

We went last year and loved it. The tickets were $50 something per person....$42, I think for my 6 year old. I would definitely do the party again!

Have fun!

I love the all parties and go to them all. However I have been wondering the past couple of years whether the MVMCP and the P and P were worth it as you can go to an EMH nite instead and not miss that much. I like the decorations for Halloween, though and the headless horseman ride - so have to go to the MNNSHP!
