Is Mousekeeping different at each resort?

I am wondering how mousekeeping takes care of bedding at different resorts. Obviously, sheets are changed after each guests' stay, but are the bedspreads changed and washed as well?

Also, is it the same at every resort? Are values/mods/deluxe different? After seeing all the reports on TV lately, I'm trying hard not to get grossed out, and just wondered what everyone thought? Thanks!

I might be wrong on this, but I think I read on here that the comforters only get washed once a month (I think that is really, really gross), but I am pretty sure that is how it goes.

Everything is changed when a new guest arrives in the room, however, at least at the Swan, sheets are changed I think every other day and the bedspread is once a week but I'm not definite on this. I forget exactly how many days but they have a card in the room that tells you. Just part of their conservation program.

I think this is a great question! We NEVER sleep with the quilts because I do not think that they are washed after each stay (please correct me if I'm wrong). I would hope that the sheets are washed often, but who knows! Bring a can of Lysol also for the bathroom!:thumbsup2

As long as I know that EVERYTHING is new when I arrive in the room I'm happy with that. How often everything is changed during my stay I'm fine with also, as long as they are changed. I can always tell anyway from the smell and how wrinkled they are.

Im all my stays at WDW, I've never seen a Mousekeeper carrying a comforter. That just grosses me out.

I don't doubt that they change the sheets, on our last trip to CBR they changed the sheets almost every night. That was great - not necessary, but great. But changing the comforter once a night??? yuck!

I am curious about the comforters. Anyone know for sure?

in the WDW resorts we stay in now, the blanket is covered by sheets (like a duvet) so you never see the blanket. There isn't a comforter, but rather a blanket that is covered.

And yes, the mousekeeping is different at the different resorts.

What Disney resort have you stayed in that had this, I have never seen them at Disney. All the photos of the resorts show comforters.

First thing I do is go into rooms and kick the comforters onto the ground, they are NASTY!

Then before I go to bed every night, I call down for 4 pillow cases, and I use the two that were inside, since they weren't touched on so much, and then I also have them bring me a flat sheet I wrap my legs up in cause I like my legs to be wrapped like a mummy or something. :)

I get the pillow cases cause you never know how the maid handled them and they are often touching the nasty comforter.

So, I am guessing that the double sheeted beds are only at the deluxe resorts? Which ones? From the pictures, they all look like they have comforters. Even the suites.

the last few times we've stayed at the GF RPC. I don't recall whether the other deluxes had that or not.

Am I reading this right? They don't wash the comforters between guests, if at all? EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

The only hotel I have ever stayed at in the US that does is Caesar's Palace (towers). They have a heavy cotton duvet and you can see housekeeping put a clean one on while they are cleaning. They also steam clean the carpet pathways in the room before new guests check in.

All the hotels I've stayed at in Mexico (resort cities) put all clean linens on for every stay, and I've even seen them change out draperies, especially in smoking rooms.

I wish hotels would do away with comforters and bedspreads because 99% aren't washed until there is something obvious on it. I'd be happier to walk in a room and see just a sheeted bed.

I remember turn down service in years past where they removed the bedspread and put it on the shelf in the closet. Everyone should do this as soon as they arrive (and then go wash their hands with anti-bacterial soap! :upsidedow )

Those comforters usually don't even look good, so I sure wish they wouldn't put them on, it should be something you can request.

I saw some photos online of a room at AKL where the comforters were missing, the rooms really looked nicer.

I am a former hotel inspector (NOT in the State of FL) and as a general rule, bed spreads and comforters are not washed after each guest.
While at Pop, I found my bed spread thing had a blood stain on it. Talking about icki-ing me out. I called housekeeping and they VERY promptly brought another. I HAVE seen mousekeeping carrying bedpsreads on numerous occasions.
Why not call mousekeeping once you check in and simply request that freshly laundered bed spreads be brought to your room?

While at Port Orleans, my daughter's daughter leaked and the comforter was wet. Not wet enough to soak right through the bed, just the comforter. I called housekeeping and explained the situation and asked if we could have another comforter. When we returned to the room we found the bed made with the wet comforter on it. After a couple more calls to housekeeping, another comforter was delivered to us. When my mother answered the door, housekeeping practically threw it at her!

My experience with the Swan I know my bedspread it always sparkling white but I'm sure with the help of bleach. They have the Heavenly Beds and everything is white so at least I've never seen stains and if I did I would promptly call housekeeping. I do know there is a card in the room that explains how often bedding is changed.

My DD is a 'germaphobic' which in a way is nice, because she keeps everything clean! But, I have to admit, traveling has become less exciting when I start reading reports in the newspaper and watching the news on TV about things they have found in hotel rooms.

I understand WDW trying to conserve resouces, but if I am paying $350+ a night, I would like to know that everything is clean.
