Is MNSSHP worth $243? Update - Yes, it is!!

Well, I never expected the party to be offered on 9/15, which is the day we have planned to check out. So, if we add on another night at CSR with the free dining, add one other day to our tickets, and buy the party tickets, it would be $243. Do you think it is worth it for just DH and me? DS will not be with us, but I would love to go. DH loves Halloween and would dress up. What do you think?

Haven't done the party yet, so I'm not much help. . . but from what I understand, most people recommend not doing parks the day of the party since you can get into the MK starting at 4pm with your party tickets. . . so you might not need to add a day to your tickets. Just take that day to sleep in, relax, and rest before 4 so you won't be exhausted staying til the end of the party.

Might make it a little cheaper (*cough* a little more justifiable *cough*)

Well - I added an extra day to my trip to do it, so I think it's worth it!

Ive been to 3 MNSSHP and had an awesome time at every one of them (ususally on Halloween night)

How are you figuring $243 though? That much more???

Our room would be $155, the extra day passes would be $8 (which is the only reason why I would consider adding them), and the party tickets would be $80. I think it is probably worth it, but not sure DH will agree. I have heard it is fun, but most people have their kids with them. Of course, I have friends with a 5 year old who will be there the same time, so maybe I could just use their's. Just not sure it is worth it for just two grown ups.

Well. . .if it helps any, we're going to the October 2nd party and I'M the kid of the group and I'm 28, LOL!

This is a first for the Halloween Party for us, we've done the Christmas one a couple times and if that's any indication, it's not really geared towards kids any more than your typical day in the parks. Sure there are a couple things here and there to keep the kiddies entertained, but no one looks at you like a freak for not having a child with you.

well, if it makes you feel any better, my DBF, my DMIL to-be and myself will be there on Halloween eve to join in the festivities...respectively we are 48, 77 and 49 but seriously young at heart!

the beauty of Disney is it brings out the child lurking inside all of us - so stay, enjoy the party and let yourself be a child again - even if only for a fleeting moment!

room $155, extra day ticket $8, party tickets $80, feeling that childlike wonderment of Disney - priceless !!

Well, I just wanted to give you an update. DH said "YES!!!!"

My wonderful DU TA, Rhonda, has already extended my trip and will call to get my tickets when they go on sale. We did decide to just hang out at the resort that day and not really do anything, so I am not changing my MYW tickets. I did not even plan another ADR, although we will need to use one of our TS credits at Maya Grill for either breakfast or lunch that day.

I am currently reading all of TGMike's advice about the party and planning that. So much fun!!!

Thank you all for being excited for me and letting me know I am not crazy to spend the extra money. Now, to find my Tink costume. I knew I was losing all of this weight for some reason.

If you are on the DDP you should get another nights worth of credits for both of you.

MNSSHP is definately worth the money and extra day!! Atleast I think so. We were down this past October for it, and I had such an awesome time!!!! The parades and the firework everything is excellant!! We even made our way to the back part of the park and actually were the only two people to ride Splash Mountain and didnt exit the park until way after the big crowds left.As we got up towards the castle we had Mickey, Minnie, goofy and Donald all to ourselves before they were wisked away for bedtime!! Plus being the only 2 people walking through Frontierland.

But I would definately add on that extra day for the halloween party!! Have a great time, you wont regret it!!!

Switch to a cheaper value room, to drop that down a bit more.

Skip the extra day ticket add-on (you can have a relaxing pool day - or sleep in and bum around Downtown Disney afternoon)
