Is MM or avoiding EMH at DCA more valuable? 3 day tickets on F&W weekend

We will be using 3 day, 1 park per day tickets with max pass the first weekend of April (5-7). We were planning on doing Disneyland Saturday and using our Magic Morning that day. We are only going to DCA one day, either Friday, Sat, or Sunday, and going to DL the other days. Which day do you think makes sense to do DCA? If we use Magic Morning we will miss the non EMH rope drop at DCA. We are trying to keep the budget down and not spend $50 more for hoppers. Also keeping in mind F&W crowds.

We have not seen Pixar Pier/Incredicoaster yet and hope to ride all the bigger rides (Soarin, GotG, Incredicoaster, RSR, TSMM) once or twice, do some of the smaller rides, plus see World of Color and wander around the Food and Wine festival. We will have max pass. Any tips would be great! Thank you!

You’re talking April 5 or 7? If you’re committed rope-droppers, I’d probably go with Friday because you’ll be fresher and have more energy, and you can probably knock out a ton in the morning, but it just depends.

Friday, IMO, you’re more likely to have lower crowds in the morning that build as the day goes on, and by the evening it may be packed, especially with people coming for Food and Wine. Sunday, it’ll probably be more consistently crowded, earlier (again, especially with F&W folk), although the two lower passes are blocked out that day... so it could go either way. I don’t think either is an obviously better choice.

I think both Friday and Sunday are EMH at DCA. So even if you rope drop DCA will already have folks in it ahead of you.

The dilemma is do you go contra and do regular rope drop at each park where there is no MM/EMH st that park and forget about the MM benefit from your 3 day pass. Something to consider

Yes, April 5-7. Thanks both of you for your thoughts!

I guess that sparks the question, is MM or going to DCA on a non EMH day more valuable?

Since you'll have MP, that gives you a little more advantage at DCA -- the EE people won't have too much of a jump on you. You'll still be able to get FPs for RSR (these have been going the fastest lately). And you'll be able to use MP during your MM -- I'd use the MM just for that!

Thanks! Would you say that it's still a good idea to use MM and do DL on Saturday then? Do you think Fri or Sunday would be better at DCA, or are they similar?

I think @Skyegirl1999 gave you a good answer -- it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Friday will be less busy in the morning, but more busy in the evening. Sunday will be more evenly busy. I would choose whichever day is better for you, but keep an eye on the weather forecast. If rain shows up on either day, then choose that day! A rainy day can work in your favor.
