Is Mission Space less intense

I was thinking about taking my grandson to WDW next year
and was wondering if Mission Space is less intense than
it once was. Grand Ma and I rode it after it first opened and
I was informed by her that she would not allow the boy
to ride, since it about made her sick.
I thought it was great and I wanted the grandson to visit Mars.
I know not to turn your head and all, and I told her that I have not read
very much lately on the intensity of the ride so, I figured that they had
calmed it done some.
Does any one know if Disney have tamed it down, after the few problems they had.
The boy will be seven and tall enough, but she is afraid he
will get sick or hurt.

To my mind, they HAVE toned it down a bit.

Just rode it 3 times last week and (even though it is still "intense") it did not seem overly so (at least as much as when I rode it when it first opened).

All of this is totally subjective, of course.

Seems like I read that despite rumors that they have altered the intensity, that the attraction is still operating at the same level as day one.:earsboy:

I am not sure when you first rode it, but it was toned down slightly as to not make as many people sick ( confirmed by many cm's and guest relations) . I was on when it first opened and than a year or so later and it was calmer. My 5 yr old has gone it lots of times and loves it!! My 7 yr old not so much. It is still intense but if your grandson enjoys the mountains he will probably like this one.

It seemed less intense to me but that is probably more to do with the fact that I know what to expect now and don't feel as nervous about the whole thing anymore. I have heard rumors both ways, so who knows :confused3 ?

we rode it about 2 weeks after the kid died. We didn't notice any less intensity than when we had rode it the October before.

I don't know if the intensity has changed, but my DS7 LOVED it. I on the other hand hated it.

CM's can fall victim to rumor and urban legend too. I rode Mission: Space when it first opened, and many, many times since. It has not changed.

My family rode it in 2003 during spring break, and then 3 of us rode it again in summer 05, and we all thought it was alot less intense. We weren't sure if we were just so nervous it made it that thrilling the first time: and the second time, we were more prepared, or if they had changed it. But we certainly felt a difference!!!! Who knows! :confused3 :goodvibes
