Is Mineral Makeup "Addicting"?

I ordered the kabbuki brush set - what a great price - and I LOVE the brushes. Also ordered the lip gloss set - it sold out right after I ordered it. I want to wait for the vintage set that they should show tonite. Other than that, I have pretty much everything they showed. I was hard not to order the brown/green trios, but I wanted to check them out in the store first. I have a $30 credit there, so I might use it for that instead.

I agree, the brushes did look like a great deal. I have the baby kabbuki though, so I'm not sure if I need another one.

What is the vintage set?

I've been watching QVC today hoping they'll have a set with all of the basics in it. Does anyone know if they'll have a set like that with the showing this afternoon? I have never used BE before and I would like to start with a set. If they don't have a set, can someone give me a list of the must haves to get started?

It's a kit they will be showing later tonight. I think the TSV is about to sell out, so it will probably be offered at a great price as a OTO (One Time Only). Here are the items in the kit.

7PC Vintage Beauty Collection - Sorbet Blush, Lemonade Glimpse, Bubbly Eyeshadow, Climbing Ivy Liner Shadow, Gossamer Lip Gloss, Tapered Blush Brush, Double Ended Precision Brush, Bag

I answered this, but it didn't show up! QVC doesn't really sell a starter set, so I suggest going to www.bareminerals.com and ordering the set there. It's a great price for what you get. If you tried to get the basics from QVC, you'd spend a lot more than $60!

What was in the kabuki set? I forgot they were on today, but I did set to tape the next segment tonight at 5. I've been toying around with getting a kabuki brush.

It was a full kabuki and a baby buki (for traveling). I LOVE the brushes, so I ordered another set. It was $32 and change. I paid $15 just for the baby buki at the boutique alone. I have roseacea and they seem to work wonders for my skin with the blending, etc.

I haven't seen the vintage set, but have heard about and and am very excited to get one. I am going out from 7:30-8:30, so I hope it shows up before that or they could be all sold out.

It looks like the TSV is about to sell out, so I am pretty sure the Vintage kit will be a OTO (one time only) at the beginning of the 6PM ET show. It will probably sell out quickly, so if you want it, order it!

Was this a good package deal? I watched the show and have been watching this thread and would like to start trying BE. Not knowing much, I couldn't tell if this was a good one-time-only special.

Yes, it was an excellent one-time price. If you haven't started with BE, then you really need to start with the basic kit they sell at www.bareminerals.com. It's the best value for the price for the basics.

I bought it. Not sure if I really needed it, but I bought it nonetheless. It came with:
0.02 oz lemonade glimpse, an icy butter cream shade
0.02 oz bubbly eye shadow, a champagne shade
0.01 oz climbing ivy liner shadow, a silk sage shade
0.03 oz sorbet blush, a ballet pink shade
0.2 oz gossamer lip gloss, a sheer golden sparkle
tapered blush brush
double-ended precision brush
copper vintage evening clutch

The Lemonade Glimpse...is this a sparkly/glimmery shade?

A glimpse is a cross between the BE shadow and the BE glimmer. It's not as sparkly as the glimmers, but not as matte as the shadows.

had to resurrect this thread to ask if any of you are contact lens wearers. With the recent threads about Bausch and Lomb Renu recalls, it got me to thinking. I have been having problems with my contacts/eyes feeling extremely dry and was wondering if perhaps it was the BE makeup I recently started using. Anyone else have this problem? I do use quite a bit of either the bisque or the well rested around my eyes to cover the dark circles :confused3

I have been wondering as well. It seems that when wearing glasses the BE I have irritates my eyes to a point of slight burning after I have it on during the day. My eyes are also very dry with the contacts.
Other than that I really love it.

I wear contacts and use BM makeup. I did not have any problems with any of the makeup burning or drying out my contacts...I did however switch back to my usual mascara (pre-BM) only becuase I really didn't care for the brushless mascara wand. It never gave me the look I was looking for...otherwise, no issues with eyeliners, shadows, or basic face makeup etc. I have always used bisque aruond my eyes, under and on the lids and still no problems...? I suppose it could happen though.
