Is Mineral Makeup "Addicting"?

I just received my QVC Fashionista BE kit. Now I know that there was some discussion on the proper brush to use with the foundation. The kit only comes with the baby kabuki. Should I go and buy the flawless appplication face brush ($22 - Sephora) first before trying this? I want to do it right from the start so that I can clearly see how this stuff is *supposed* to look rather than judge it with what may be the wrong brush.

Ok...how noticeable does this makeup look on a person? To me, liquid makeups look terrible, very fake, like plaster (no flames please, this is just my opinion). Does BE give you that same mask-like look? I've never seen this done in person and its quite hard to see what it really looks like when you're judging this based on a TV show (QVC).

You can't even tell it is on. I have roseaca (sp). My skin is red and splochy. I get these red break outs. I put this on and it all goes away. I used to put on liquid (not very often )and on my skin it made it look worse than the redness. This actually seems to calm my redness and break out. I have better skin at 40 than in my 20's and 30's. This is the only make up that has lived up to it's promise (and then some).

I ordered a starter kit from Sephora.com yesterday. I'll see how it goes. :)

I don't know which brush is recommended. I have both the flawless and baby kabuki brush. I prefer the coverage I get with the baby kabuki brush. I don't care for the way the flawless brush makes the foundation look.

So far I plan on getting the foundation and special brush but is there anything else you experts would reccomend? Also, do you need a special concealer to work with the foundation or can I just use my regular concealer? Thanks!!!

I would recommend the bisque as the concealer and the little brush for that. Can't remember what it is called off the top of my head. There is bisque and summer bisque. I use bisque to conceal and even put some on my eyelids. I would not use regular concealer with it. I still use other brand eye shadows at times.

I just got my TSV kit in the mail. I will try out the new shades tomorrow. I did try out the brushless mascara and all I have to say is, "WOW, where did all those lashes come from pixiedust: ?!?!?" And that was with 1 application. It is great :thumbsup2 . I never had a mascara do what this does. I will have to be careful not to put too much on.

I do prefer using the flawless application brush to apply my foundation better than the baby kabuki though. I think I will use the baby buki for my clear radiance.

Ladies,

Someone in my forum just posted that Cat Cosmetics has her Cat Kabuki on sale this month. The forum ladies RAVE about this brush for applying foundation, so if you don't have something for your foundation, this might be a good time to pick something up for a good price.

www.catcosmetics.com, click on Monthly Meow, scroll down to the kabuki and click on the picture. It's $29.50 and comes with a case! Don't miss out!

Thanks! I'll add the Bisque to my list :)

I second the raves on the Cat Kabuki--I bought it after all the recommendations on Christa's :wave2: site. It's what I use and I love it!

I actually just got Well Rested today and used it around my eyes--it really brightened them up. :)

After reading the PP, I'm in! I am going to call the Sophera store in MA, which is the nearest BM retailer. I have always seen the infomercials and it seemed too good to be true. I use origins make-up now, and although it truly does leave a matte finish, the feel is too heavy. It doesn't look natural either-and I look too matte perfect. With spring/summer coming I need something much lighter. I don't mind spending the money as long as the product works. :)

Ok, don't kill me, but I've tried Sheer Cover and I just didn't like it. I have very, very pale skin. I felt like I always looked so dry looking. Hmmmm, maybe I need to bust out the stuff and try it again.

:wave2: Hi Kim! I like Well Rested, too! I call it a "good night's sleep in a jar!"

Okay all, I just recevied my starter kit from Sephora yesterday. So far, I love it. Now what all else would you recommend? I have 2 foundations, Warmth, and Mineral Veil. I saw someone mention the bisque for a concealer. Do you put that on before or after the foundation?

My local Spa (where my estectician works) sells Jane Irdell (sp?). Has anyone used her products? I might check that out for blushes and shadows, b/c I don't have a BE reselller anywhere near me and I like to see the colors before I buy.

Thanks again and btw, yes, it seems very addicting.

:thumbsup2

Bisque is an excellent concealer. I use it before the foundation. But it can be used either way.

I don't have the kubuki brush, but everyone seems to be raving about it. Other than size, what's the difference b/t the full size buki and the baby buki?

I have both. The only difference that I can see is the size.

I see that a few of you have beat me to it.

Currently I have the angled foundation brush which I use for my base and my clear radiance. I also have the brush that goes with the bisque concealer which I just love (I just love the bisque, the brush too, but the bisque especially).

I just received my Fashonista set from QVC and am contemplating the contents. I like the look of the baby buki and will use that with my new radiance color. I want to get a new foundation brush and was thinking of the retractable brush that I could "load up" and take with me during the day.

Does anybody have the retractable brush and how do you like it? Any other brushes from BE that you like and why? I am not going to order the cat buki brush as I can drive to the King of Prussia BE store and get what I need there.

TIA! :cheer2:

Just wanted to post that I'm 33, got BE for Christmas, and my skin has never been so clear. I'm totally addicted.

Addicting?...um, yeah!!!

I just bought Bisque, the eye shadow kit in Brown (Meet the Browns or something), Glee, and an eye shadow brush. Man, this addiction is going to be expensive!

One question, what happens when your face gets wet? ie: Splash Mountain.

Does it get all cakey?
