We have planned to go during kids fall break this, 10/8-10/15, but last year we were there in Sept and I hope we won't be dissapointed with the crowds. Any hopeful thoughts?????

We'll be there the exact same time. I went in mid Oct in 2000 and it was wonderful. Not very crowed at all. Let's hope that we have the same good luck this year.

I've been several times in October. In 2002, DH and I walked onto Pirates of the Caribbean and had the whole ride to ourselves! However, last October, Epcot was fairly busy due to the Food & WIne Festival. I think it's a good time to go. We'll be there October 5-9 this year.

I don't think "crazy busy", but it will be busy so be prepared for a lot of people - especially if the dollar is still low. There will be many foreign visitors at that time of year.

United Kingdom schools have a vacation period (half-term) in the middle to end of October, I noticed a lot of Brits there last year during that time. We have been twice in mid-October. Columbus Day holiday makes it busier, so avoid that if you can. We also noticed that it was noticably busier last year than the year before..however it wasn't anywhere near what you would call peak attendence.

We were there last October, and it was pretty crazy. However, I think we had a unique situation due to everyone canceling their trips in September (due to the hurricanes) and bein able to reschedule in October. Even the bus drivers mentioned that it was seriously busy. That said, I was also pretty surprised by the heat and humidity. We are from out west and am totally unused to weather like that. When we scheduled we thought we were late enough to miss this, but no. I would try to go closer to the end of October, but not over halloween, to minimize crowd and humidity/heat! We had a fabulous time and so will you!

We've been two Oct. in a row - including last Columbus Day. We have had NO problems with crowds. It's not completely empty or anything, but compared to June and Christmas, Oct. is a breeze! We really love it!

We've been in Oct 3 different times and the only thing I would come close to calling busy was Epcot on Friday evening and Saturday. We saw quite a few people with FSU, Miami, Tampa Bay Buc's gear which leads me to believe that the locals come for the Food and Wine Fest on the weekend.

Other than that, we walked right on all the biggies. I think the longest wait we had was 15 minutes for anything.

Any time in October is a good time EXCEPT Colombus Day weekend. The busiest time in that month. If you go then and plan to do MNSSHP, buy your tickets in advance because this is when they do sell out. I have seen post that there are no rental cars available at Alamo and naitonal during Colombus Day weekend already.

True, Columbus day Halloween party did sell out last year when we went...but again, crowds are nothing compared to other times of the year. I always see posts about how terrible columbus weekend is to go, but we didn't notice lots of crowds at all. Again, this is in comparison to going in June and Christmas, but it was no problem. Even the sold out party (which we attended) didn't seem crowded...we still walked on to every ride with no wait.

We were there Columbus Day weekend and thought it was pretty busy, but not so busy that our fun was lessened. :flower: Halloween Party was great!
