Is McDonald's still offering the McRib sandwich?

It's not currently on the menu here. It's been about 6 months since they had it on the menu. Usually they add it during the summer months, take it off for 3/4 months, then put it back on again. I really wish they would just permently add it to the menu.

They stop selling them around here about a month ago, they had them for about 2 months. I love them had a few of them each week they had them.

It's one of those things McD's sells on & off. More off than on.

However, Subway sandwiches sells a BBQ rib patty all the time, that is the same McRib. You have to build your own sandwich. I get one, have them load on the BBQ sauce right onto the rib patty, then pickles & onions. Then they toast it. The McD's sauce is a bit tangier, but it's very close. :thumbsup2

I've always been scared of that McRib sandwhich...:scared1:

it just creeps me out for some reason...is it meat? is it really a rib?...does it occur naturally inside a cow?

:confused3

It skeeves me out a little bit too, but it's so good. :lmao:

The ingredients for most of their burgers say like "Quarter Pound 100% Beef Patty" or whatever, but for the McRib and the McChicken it just says "McChicken Patty" or "Pork McRib Patty". Not real reassuring.

ETA: Just found the ingredients for McRib patties and McChicken patties!

McRib patty: Pork, water, salt, dextrose, BHA and BHT and propyl gallate and citric acid (preservatives).

McChicken patty: Chicken, water, salt, sodium phosphates. bleached wheat four, water, wheat flour, food starch-modified, salt, spices, partially hydrogenated soybean oil and cottonseed oil with mono -and diglycerides, egg whites, wheat gluten, paprika, dextrose, leavening (sodium acid pyrophosphate, baking soda, monocalcium phosphate, ammonium bicarbonate), garlic powder, yeast, natural flavor (plant source), extractives of paprika. Prepared in vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness). Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.

Yikes.

I love them too. I think of the rib patties as "mystery meat," but I love them so much, I scarf them down. I was happy when I found the Subway equivalent. :thumbsup2 I think it's even one of their $5 footlong sandwiches.

I am resurrecting this thread because this week McDonald's is releasing the McRib NATIONWIDE!

I believe I read it will be for 6 weeks, but you will find them at all McDonald's restaurants.

I grabbed one before voting and it was just as I had remembered - fatty, but delicious. :rotfl:

We have had the McRib back here for a few weeks now. I shudder thinking about them. I worked at MickeyD's for 2 years in college. The "ribs" were cooked on the cooktop, and then put in a heated container with the sauce. That sauce got really FREAKING hot!!!! My hands always had burns during McRib season!

I had one FOUR days ago! :yay: I went in for a filet-o-fish and saw the McRibs are back. The ad for it looked like it's only around for the holidays.

Yeah, I went through drive through for my daughter and saw it was back. They don't appeal to me in the least. Pork doesn't like me. . .so I usually avoid it at all cost. But, I do know people that love the McRib.

I'm in east orlando and the billboard out front of the one by me and the one further up from me both have "MCRIB IS BACK!" on them....

I was just laughing about that yesterday...

They have pork and chicken versions? How do you know which one you're getting?

Saw them at our local McD's and just saw a big article on Yahoo.

I've never had one! So do they really live up to the hype? There's something about "meat" (using the term loosley) pressed into a shape that frightens me, but how can all these McRib followers be wrong?!

Took my kids to McD's for lunch yesterday and the McRib is here right now. Never had one...not really interested in trying one.
