First week of May, yes. It is a school holiday in many European countries. However not summer or christmas busy. The weeks after should be better because schools are back in session.

I googled French school holidays and found a website that I don't seem to be able to link without being flagged as spam, but it seems that spring holidays in "Zone B" go through that first week.
