Hi,
Is anyone else out there on the May 18th 7-day Eastern cruise? I only know of 1 other person from the boards who'll be there, and I'm starting to wonder. . . . If you will be cruising with us, please introduce yourselves! We will be a party of 2, my husband, Brent (34) and me (30). It will be our first cruise ever, and we are so excited. We will be leaving the kids home with the grandparents :o) We finally passed the 60-day mark. Woohoo!

Hi, we are on the May 18th, (sorry, not leaving the kiddos home but bringing the grandparents with) Me 33, dh 47, dd 12, dd10, dd7, dd5 and dd 10 months (plus mother in law and father in law).

First time cruisers, and you have no idea how excited I am to be at the 60 day mark :0)

We booked through dreams unlimited and just booked about a month ago so learning alot quickly :)

HI there, my family will be on the 5/18 cruise. This is our 2nd DCL cruise. We sailed on the Wonder Nov 2001 with a large group of my family. This time there will be me (37), DH (39), DD (12) and DS (9). My sister (32) and her husband (36) and her DD (18 mos) will be joining us again. They have friends from Connecticut that will be joining us also. They have a DD (19 mos) also. My sister and I had such a good time in November that we couldn't wait to book again. When we saw the Springtime Magic rates, we went for it! It is a wonderful feeling to know that we've paid the balance and it's even more exciting when you get the documents.
Looking forward to more fun in the sun and hope we'll run across you there.

Lori

Oh yeah, my sister is DeeB on these boards.

Lori,

My dd12 (holly) will be so happy to know there will be another 12 y.o. aboard. Can you tell me since she has cruised before, did she enjoy the activities? Did she do the club? Did you allow her to come and go as she wanted? Really unsure about this part since she is at that inbetween age. Any info would be appreciated.

Jeanne

Jeanne, My daughter is not very outgoing at all. She went a couple of times to the club but didn't stay long. She usually just dropped in wherever the group was without checking in at the club. I felt like she was fine doing that although I would have preferred that she joined in more and made some new friends. She did just come and go pretty much as she pleased (very mature and responsible child) so long as someone in our group was aware of where she was and how long she would be. We also had the walkie talkie things that we kept in touch with. She loved going to the movies alone the most. This trip I really hope to encourage her to hang out more in the club. Those kids looked like they were having so much fun. She really joined us in most everything, just did her own thing during those hang out times with no planned activities. Hopefully, we could hook the two of them up!

Hi Lori and Jeanne!
I'm so glad to know there are others from this board who'll be there. :) I'm feeling guilty that we aren't bringing our kids now. But our youngest is only 7 months old, so we thought we'd wait until they were all old enough to enjoy it. Yes, it does feel good to be paid up. Have you booked your shore excursions yet? We just did this morning. In St. Maarten we are doing the Under 2 flags tour, In St. Thomas the Atlantis submarine tour, and on Castaway Cay the package with the snorkeling, floats and bikes. See you both onboard!

We haven't booked out excursions yet. DeeB and I will be talking it over this weekend. The only thing I know for certain that will be booked is Scuba Diving in St. Thomas for our husbands. I think that I read on these boards that the best scuba diving was in St. Thomas not St. Maarten. Do ya'll remember reading that?

Lori

I think the scuba stuff is supposed to be better in St. Thomas.

We are doing the Five Star St. John Snorkel thing (me, dd12, dd10 and father in law) while at St. Thomas

St. Mart. dh, mother in law, dd7 and dd5 are doing Pinel Island snorkel thing.

We are each taking an excursion without bebe to make it fair :)

Castaway the big kids and dh are doing banana boat rides and the snorkel/bike/float packages.

My only sad thing is that we have late dining but I am starting to think that wont be too bad at all. Means we will actually probably be hungry by then (after snacking all day) and maybe the kiddos will just end up eating early some of the time.

Any of you guys going down early? We are spending a couple of days at Animal Kingdom Lodge before.

Lori, my daughter isnt very outgoing either, very mature, very sweet and quiet. I am so hoping she likes the organized stuff a little. I showed her some of the navigators (from different sites) and she seems a little enthusiastic. My other girls are complete opposite. Put them in a crowd of strangers and they love it.

Who is doing spa treatments (or hoping to anyways)? I would like to get Flounders nursery for one night to hopefully do Palos but not counting on it.

We ended up getting two category four family cabins. Wanted something a little bigger but we booked too late.

Well, as Pocohontas would say "its just around the river bend".

leaving tomorrow for ten days at Disney :)

Hi all!
I'm so glad to read that there are going to be others on this cruise besides just our family...I was beginning to wonder! We are: my husband (37), myself (34), dd (7) and ds (4) and we are so excited that we can hardly contain ourselves!

Grlzmom: I saw that you will have a 7 year old also! My daughter will be so excited, she's been a little worried that there would only be 5 year olds, or just boys in her group!!!

Looking forward to a great trip!

Hello! This is Lori's sister checking in. We really can't wait for this trip, I think about it every day!
Jeanne- Don't be worried about Flouders filling up because they try to make sure everyone gets some time in the nursery that wants it. Everyone does not use the nursery, they make you pick your nights by telling them which one is the most important to you so just make sure that is your Palo's night. We left DD there when she was only 13 months & she liked it. This cruise she will be 19 months so it will be so different for her because everything is so amazing to her.
I hope to see you all there!

Hi everyone,

We will also be sailing May 18. It will be DD(34), DW (33), DD(10) & DD (5). We are so excited also. Everyday as I look on our computer desktop screen I am happily reminded of our count down to cruise calendar. I haven't posted here much, but have sure learned a huge amount of valuable info over the last several months. I just copy to a word document all the great tips. We would love to meet you all onboard if possible. Looks like our DD ages are similar to others going too. We plan on getting ressies for the spa & palos so hopefully that will all work out for all of us dis folks going at that time.

See you all soon,
Rob & Lisa

Going to WDW in 24 days!!
Cruising in 1m 27d!!!!:bounce:

We'll be there also! Our first cruise ever. Me (30) DH (29), DD (5) DD(2 1/2). We are cruising with some friends who also have a DD(5). We are so excited and looking forward to meeting you all.

So happy to be cruising with lots of other moms with dds.

Fl mom of 2, my dd7 also is afraid of being the oldest (and she will actually be close to eight then), so I am happily reassuring her she will not be alone :)

Really happy to see there will be some other dd5s on board too :)

So excited for our first cruise. Really hoping the girls find some kiddos to play with so they will occasionally want to go to the club.

We are leaving today for ten days at Disney and will be trying like crazy to catch up with this board when we get back.
