Is Living w/ the Land at Epcot worth going to?

Living with the Land is my favorite! I love the greenhouses so much, and the aqua culture is so neat! Definitely go on it! Its a great ride to go on while you're waiting for Soarin'! We went on the Behind the Seeds tour as well, and thought that was lovely!

Disneybliss2, You will have to share with us if you like this ride when you return from your trip. When is your trip?
I love this ride, but i enjoy gardening. I especially like the hydroponics. That is so very interesting to me. I can see where some people would hate this ride and feel it was a waste of 15 minutes, but I have to ride every time.

We rode this at least four times last trip, at my kid's insistence! They love it 9 and 5 at the time - and we enjoy it as well. Relaxing, interesting, and cooling. We've never waited either, always just walked on. The boys are already talking about it for our upcoming trip.

This ride had a profound effect on my DD. She was 8 years old on her first trip to WDW. We went on the Land ride, and when she saw the plants and the hydroponics, she knew what she wanted to be when she grew up.

Years later, she graduated from Cornell with a degree in Fruit and Vegetable Science and landed a job doing DNA research on plants, working in a lab just like the one at the end of the ride. All because of the Land.

You never know what will influence a child, but the Land definitely had quite an effect on my DD.

I have to go on this ride several times each trip, think of DD, and smile. :cloud9:

DH and I love this ride. It's a nice relaxing trip through the green house. And it's cool to see the Mickey Mouse pumpkins.

I like the ride plus the Behind the Seeds tour of Living with the Land.

Cool story, MdmMim! Our daughter had a reaction about like yours the first time she rode it, but she's only 7 so we've got a few years to see if she sticks with her choice. :thumbsup2

While its short on thrills, its an interesting and relaxing little boat ride. It also has one of the shortest waits in all of the World, consistently. A great place to cool off on a hot day, too.

Love this story...it was easy for some people to pass off the classic EPCOT Center as "boring, too educational", etc. but clearly it has had a great effect on a lot of us and what we chose to do with our lives.

I've read a few stories like this and I too feel greatly influenced by the visions of the future and progress that EPCOT Center showed/continues to show.

Another vote for LWTL. I would also add that you should try and ride when it's dark outside. For some reason, that always makes it better for me.

We LOVE this ride. We eat at Garden Grill then go straight down to the ride. The kids love it too. They love seeing how things are grown and always point out the "upside down" bananas. I love the area before you get into the greenhouse too. I wish EPCOT still had more rides like this....

We go at least twice or three times on each of our trips.

It's one of those "try it at least once" for us. If and when they make any new changes/additions we'll do it again. For now, once is enough.

Minus the awful songs :teeth: we really like this attraction and it is a must-do for each EPCOT visit.

It's definitely not thrilling - but it is peaceful and interesting.

I'm not quite sure why it has FastPass machines - they don't seem to be necessary!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS RIDE! then again I"m a big science dork and definately a future bio/chem teacher, with the possibility of Env. Sci teacher. With the exception how horrible aquaculture is for the environment and fish, it's educational and interesting. I really want to take the behind the seeds tour. I love looking at the hydroponics and everything.

But it's really not worth waiting. Come back later in the day

Am I missing something? I have been on this ride loads of times (love the greenhouses :lovestruc ), but I have never been on a boat with a "guide" or "attendant". Is this something new? The last time I was there was April 08. Or is this something old? I think the first time I rode it was about 3 years ago. :confused3

It's been quite some time since I remember the live tour guides. Also, this is probably one of the few attractions that is pretty much the same as it was upon the opening. There were of course updates, but the general setup and ideas are the same.
