Is Jet Blue scaling back?

I had been watching the flights home from MCO to BDL in September and one of the flights I was watching just disappeared off the search (It left somewhere around 5pm). There is now currently only one non-stop to BDL that day and it won't work for me because it leaves at 8am and I will be getting off a cruise. Southwest has one non-stop that day at 10:30am that day which is also too early.

Weirdly there are very few options that day on other airlines and even then they leave too early. I think I'm looking at having to book another night stay and go home the next day which seems crazy to me.

Is September just a weird time to fly? I've always had plenty of options for flights home.
The economy and the lack of international tourists are playing a factor as to why there are fewer flight options.

That being said, this is another reason why I will NOT ever consider flying back directly after I debark a Disney Cruise, opting instead to spend a few days in the parks.

That's just what I did. I waitlisted a night at BCV and it came through already! I booked JB the next day at 8am and I'm hoping that one doesn't get cancelled :goodvibes

Happened to me too! I was looking at the 5pm-ish non stop on Jet Blue to BDL for Friday 9/26 and it just disappeared on me! Ended up extending the trip one day & got a 6:15pm on Southwest instead. I remember when both airlines had 3 nonstops a day to MCO & back ☹️

Bummer! At least you got to extend your trip! I extended by a whole day and I ended up using DVC points for BCV so not a bad trade off in the end!

I remember that too! Seems so strange to me that there is only ONE per day now!

I’m using my daughter’s apartment! I always use points on both SWA & JB so $11.20 round trip. Really can’t complain.

We are going out of BDL in September too. Seriously hoping they don’t cancel the non stop flights that we have booked!

we are in MA but fly out of bdl too. We stopped using southwest due to lack if nonstops and cost, hope jb doesnt follow but seems less choices now too. We are booked in oct, watching those closely

Jet Blue just moved my post cruise return flight. It’s actually better for us now being moved from 10am to 1pm. I hate rushing on our last day. Hoping this won’t change again.

DH & I recently opened JB CCs & got 70,000 bonus points each. We’ve had the SWA cards for a very long time. I now stalk both sites for the best times/deals. I also watch booked flights for price drops. Took our son & the grands last November. Flights started at 18,000+ each R/T. Got them down to less than 8,000. Total cost of the nonstop R/T flights for 7 - $78.40!

our last flight we booked frontier even with paying for seats it was insanely low and better times than JB. What kind of nonsense is this I wonder? I prefer JB for sure, but the times and prices better not follow suit like SW. We wont use them anymore. But booked jb for fall 89 down and 80 back. not bad

I am still finding good prices on SWA. As with the above example, they don’t necessarily start out good. But with vigilance, I almost always get good deals. Of course this cat & mouse game is easier when paying with points. My concern with Frontier/Spirit/Breeze out of BDL is that they have so few flights. If there’s a problem with your flight, you may not be able to get another for several days even if the issue was their fault.

Why did sw get rid of so many nonstops? They have one in each direction and the times kinda stink. We only did Frontier once and Spirit once and thank god both didnt have a single issue, on time going and coming home. JB seems to be cheaper for us over SW the last few years, so weird!!!!! Just gonna keep stalking our OCT flights to make sure nothing gets dropped! we are in western MA so only 30 min from BDL

Profitability. Unless those nonstops are going to be jammed full at a profitable price, it's not worth it. And what price makes it profitable has changed a whole lot in the last five years.
guess so, in all our years the flights have always been full. So times for sure changed
