Well I have been waiting for the the last two weeks to for my husband to start his new manager training, only to be told that we cant go away for our anniversary. I am so crushed and upset. Instead of canceling it and losing money we just pushed it back.We might be able to go later but there is nothing really available at the fort for when we could go.So we are looking at possibly going Jan or Feb and was wondering if this was a good time to go?

We were there in January, and it was great! The weather wasn't too hot, but wasn't cold (although, you never know what it might be like next year!). The crowds were really low. We only used 2 FP - Peter Pan and Toy Story. Everything else we walked right on. So, as far as crowds go, it was about as good as it gets. There were several rides down for maintenance (Splash Mtn, Kali RR) and one of the water parks is closed, but we weren't planning on doing water parks anyway. We are planning our next trip and intend to go back at the end of January again!

We like Jan, BTW, by Mid Feb the spring break crowds and prices start. I'd go before then if possible. Just bring clothes for warm and cool weather.

January can be a little unpredictable weatherwise and on the cool side, naturally. That month is mainly slow except for the weekend early in the month for the Marathon and the MLK 3-day weekend.

February warms up and is warm in the sun and cool/crisp at night. The rates are still low until Valentine's Dayand crowds are still light. So weather-wise and crowd-wise, I would vote for the February dates (any times before Valentines).

If I ever get to the empty nester point in my life, I'm going to get APs and go for at least two weeks in early February and two weeks in early October. And maybe two weeks in early December. :santa: Those are my targets for good weather-low crowd combinations.

So if you can't tell my choice is for February.

Thanks Bama Ed, we were really looking forward to an adult only trip this time but it looks like we may squeeze the trip we had planned for august to September. We will have the DS 1 with us and then next year we are buying AP probably in Feb and coming down at lest three times. I am just really impatient and don't wait so we are really trying to squeeze a time for us to go this year. I knew I should not have canceled my OCt reservation! :(

Due to several reasons we go in January right after the new year. The weather the past 2 years has been very favorable for us. But we have had not so favorable weather in the past. So I would suggest packing for 3 seasons and you are leaving home during winter you should at least have a coat/jacket for when you arrive home as a fall back if it gets really chilly.

If you sell the house and hit the road, the kids can't come home !

Most of the time best and some times cold. One year Feb jackets, hats one time shorts.
