Is It Wrong That We Get Most Excited About the Food!?! W/ PICS COMPLETED!!!

Do you happen to know if one can still get a liter in epcot without eating at the Biergarten? Thanks

Great Pics! I love love love breakfast at the Crystal Palace. I think the food is the best of any character breakfast, and how could you not love Pooh?

I'm looking forward to more!:)

Yummy reviews!:goodvibes

I am also one of those people who don't eat saucy things like ribs or wings in public because I hate sauce on my cheeks. Funny thing, one day my cousin (a man!) and I were talking about this and he feels the same way... Must be heriditary!

Oh, and I also like crisp (read: almost burnt) bacon!

I look forward to reading more!

Narcoossees sounde fantastic, we're eating there in a few weeks but at 7pm and Wishes is at 10pm so doubt we'll be able to drag our meal out for 3 hours :rotfl:

You've put my mind at ease a little over Biergarten as we're eating there too :rotfl2:

We ate at CA and had an amazing view of the fireworks in Feb! I think we'll try Narcoossees this time! I was scared to try it before because we aren't seafood people either but the food looks yummy!

Great reviews! :thumbsup2
Thank you!

I'm actually not sure - I know every time we've stopped at that little booth we've onlyever ordered a regular cup, so I'm not sure if they sell the liters there. I asked DH and he didn't know either.

I completely agree! It really was the greatest breakfast.

LOL I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!

Don't worry, you will like Biergarten - the food is a lot of what we eat here, and the show is fantastic!

I was hesitant to try Narcoossee's, too, because we don't like seafood, but finally DH and I decided to just try it. The July 4th fireworks were the perfect motivator to get us to book there, and we loved every second of it!

On a side note - I made the breakfast pizza recipe someone posted on an earlier page from Chef Mickey's this weekend, and it was excellent! It tasted just like the one from CP, so they must use the same recipe. DH now wants to make it every morning. LOL

Before I get to the review, I should mention that we had originally had an ADR for Coral Reef planned for this night, but the only time they had had when I called up was 7:50 pm. I had taken it thinking we wouldn't mind eating that late, but when news came out that Disney is stupidly closing the clubs at Pleasure Island we knew we wanted to fit in one last trip there to visit the Adventurer's Club, and the only time to fit it in would be this night. Around 4:00 we were dragging and knew there would be no way we could make the 7:50 ADR and still be able to stay up for P.I., so we called the dining line to try and get an earlier ADR, but they were booked solid, so we canceled Coral Reef and decided instead to head to the Marketplace to eat something quickly there before heading to PI. So after a quick trip to our resort to shower and change, we headed to DTD to see what we could find.

DH decided that he was in the mood for a sit-down quality dinner, but with CS speed, so of course WPE popped into my head. We had never eaten here before because we usually run right for Earl of Sandwich, so it was the perfect time to try this restaurant.

I sent DH in to order while I got a table outside. I was in the mood for something simple, so I ordered the Margherita Pizza. Margherita - tomato-basil garlic sauce, mozzarella and parmesan, Roma tomatoes and fresh basil $9.95 (from All Ears)
HPIM2240.jpg

This was delicious! It was soft and chewy, perfectly done. The only things they could have improved upon were if they warmed it a little more (the cheese under the tomatoes was thick, and not melted all the way), and it was also very oily, which I hate. But I just patted off the excess oil (there was tons!) and devoured the whole thing.

DH had the Pesto Pizza.
Four Cheese Pesto - creamy goat cheese, mozzarella, fontina and Parmesan with Roma tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic-basil pesto sauce and sun dried tomatoes $10.95 (from All Ears)

I had a bite and this was great, also! It had a tiny bit of pesto sauce, so the taste wasn't overwhelming, goat cheese, tomato. DH said, 'This is good, really good.' He ate the entire thing, too.

We didn't get dessert here, because there were a few snacks we wanted to try on our way over to PI, which I'll do in another post, so the total for the two of us (plus a beer DH had and a bottle of water for me) came to $30.46. It's also worth noting that even though this is a counter service meal, servers do bring your order to the table and then clean up after you, so it's nice to leave a few dollars on the table for them.

And I just had to share this photo - I almost forgot about it! After our Biergarten lunch and before we all left Epcot, Mrs. Morrow stopped at the kiosk in France to get the Grey Goose slushie. Neither of us had ever tried this before this trip and we made it a point to try it. Unlike the ice cream cookie sandwich from M.S. Bakery, we actually did it!

HPIM2238.jpg

Well, of course it was delicious! I only had a sip as I had just finished that huge beer, and if I had my own someone would've been carrying me out of Epcot! LOL It was very lemony and just the right hint of 'sour', but not overpowered by an 'alcohol' taste. Completely refreshing on a hot day - which this was!

I'm not a big drinker, but some of those Epcot drinks are looking really good. I may have to try a few on the next trip. (Time to make some notes!)

Great update. I really like WPE and my DH had that pesto pizza. I thought it was really good and I don't even like pizza!

I'm telling you - a lot of places in Epcot have some really great cocktails. It's dangerous! :lmao:

Thank you - snacks coming up! :goodvibes

After dinner at WPE we wanted to hit up Goofy's Candy Co. before heading over to Pleasure Island. We first did the 'Make Your Own' treats last September and we are now hooked. We try to get over here once each trip. Anything you choose to make is HUGE and can easily last you a week. Not to mention they are DELICIOUS!!!

DH and I both chose to make the pretzel rods this time. You get three pretzel rods and can choose to create them all the same or something entirely different for each one. I had mine dipped in white chocolate, two dipped in peanut butter cups and one in Oreo's, and all drizzled with white chocolate. DH had all three of his dipped in milk chocolate, two dipped in Butterfingers, one dipped in peanut butter cups, and all three drizzled with caramel. YUM!!!

Obviously I do not need to tell you all how wonderful they were. They lasted forever - we even took them home and they lasted about a week before we could finish them all. The total for the two treats came to $7.46

Well, since we took the 'make your own' treats to go, we still hadn't had dessert! That meant we needed to stop into Cookes of Dublin to see if we could grab a Doh Bar. I had heard about these before our trip last September and had wanted to grab one, but the line was long and I got impatient, so we never did manage to try one.

This time I knew I needed to have one, so we stopped in on our way to get tickets for PI. We were in luck - no line! Doh Bars are basically fried Snickers bars. They are wonderful. They're made to order, so it will take a few minutes for yours to come out, and when it does it's piping hot - so you'll need a few minutes to let it cool.

Let me just say - this was AMAZING, and that's saying something, since I dislike chocolate intensely and rarely eat it, unless it's accompanied by peant butter, ala a Reeses. Anyway, it is so rich and sweet that you can try to finish one on your own, but probably won't be able to without it making your throat burn. So DH and I shared one:

Looks like a corn dog, right? Mmmmmmm.....

After the first bite. Although it doesn't look exactly appetizing, I promise it's the most delicious little thing ever!

This is definitely going to have to be on my 'must do' list from now on! Total after tip came to $3.73.

Coming up: Kona Cafe Breakfast!

Do you want to know that I make my own version of peanut butter cups too? They're actually PB balls, but so yummy. And the PB is smooter and creamier than in Reese's. (If you haven't figured it out, I like to cook.)
