Is it worth using a days admission at DHS?

I usually view DHS and AK as each being a 1/2 day park, so I usually combine them into 1 day. AK I would enjoy a LOT more if the entire thing was open at night or it wasn't designed to be so darn hot.

Anyways, this coming August trip, I am actually doing a FULL day at DHS. Granted some of it might not be around for you trip but we have planned:

Be there at park opening to catch a ride on GMR.
10:20-11:20 FP at TSMM
Hopefully catch a FP for GMR (if we didn't do it) or another for TSMM
Lunch at Backlot (we like the waffle and chicken nuggets)
Maybe watch Muppets 3D
Spend time being enthralled by the Jawas
Beauty and the beast show at 1 or 2 pm
Mama Melrose dinner at 4 pm with Pixar & Fantasmic package
Music of Pixar live at 6:45 w/reserved seating
Fantasmic at ??? W/reserved seating

May see some characters in between.

What is Launch Bay?
It's got memorabilia, artifacts, character meets, jawas and storm troopers milling around, a short film about Star Wars past, present, future and a gift shop.

I struggle with DHS these days, but that's because my 4-year old is at a difficult age to find much to do. He isn't quite up for TOT, isn't tall enough for RNRC, but is over all of the Disney Junior stuff. He loves Star Tours and Toy Story Mania (and he did love GMR) but once those two rides are done, we run out of things to do. If you'd never been to the park before, I'd say definitely go, but otherwise spend a day relaxing and check back in about three years time!

It all depends on what you like and who is going with you. For my family (2 young kids: 3 and 5), DHS is a solid half day park. If it was just my wife and I , it would be a full day and not able to do everything we had wanted.

Meh.....it's fine for an entire day for some people. For me? Nope. I love Star Wars but seriously....how many times can I do Launch Bay? I don't have little ones so Disney Jr is a no for me. I do Toy Story Mania, and maybe One Man's Dream (that one is every other trip usually). Little Mermaid holds no interest for me anymore...not since dd grew up! ToT and RnRC are fine...love them. Then, there's Star Tours. I like Path of the Jedi well enough but since my dd doesn't work there anymore, I don't need to see it. Indiana Jones has been a miss for me for years. And Beauty and the Beast is okay every few years, but not every trip. I haven't even done Fantasmic in years....much prefer the one at DL. The Muppet Show if fine, but getting old. Used to do the Great Movie Ride at least once each trip, but that's not happening anymore. So, for me...I go to DHS for TSM, ToT, RnRC and maybe Star Tours. Perhaps when they're done construction, it will hold more appeal.

It's surprising to me that GMR is what put us over the top on not going. But my wife and I decided last night that since the only ride left that our entire family can enjoy together is TSMM, we will be skipping HS in October.

It's not worth it to us to do the height requirement rides with only 2 adults. (Neither of our children are 40 inches yet) We've done most of the shows over and over, so we are just going to skip it this year.

It depends what you like not a lot of rides, but the ones that are there are good if you like them. if you aren't doing TOT and not doing RNR then maybe not worth it.

ToT is my favorite ride at WDW and I love Stormtroopers so I go at least 3 times a trip. I do have an AP so I don't have to worry about it being a half day park. If you were planning on a rest day, I'd do a half day at DHS and then pool time.

We have annual passes and we spend 4-5 hours here at a time maximum. I would suggest taking a look at what is on offer. Do you want to do the shows? Just the rides? Fantasmic? Then make a decision how much there is to do at this park for you.

It's not worth it for us but we don't do meet & greets and we've seen the shows too many times to count. I miss Animation and will miss the Great Movie Ride.

If you are someone that goes all the time then yeah the park is not worth a full day. However, for newbies or people who came maybe every few years you can make any park last an entire day if you pace yourself. We usually do not get there when the park opens and get there when we feel like it and pace ourselves at any park because we stay get 10 day tickets. If we don't do something or see what we want that day we will come back another day and catch it with park hoppers.

We were recently there and we easily did 1.5 days in HS. One thing to look at would be the price difference in tickets for x days and x+ 1 days. For the length of your trip you may find that adding the day at HS is rather inexpensive and "worth" it even if you only do half a day there.

We think so (except my 7 year old), my bigger kids love TOT and RNR.
We all love Fantasmic! We always see Indy and B&B show.
We do use DHS as our sleep in day though. We arrive whenever and stay until close.

We skipped in June it in favor of an extra day at AK. We had 7 park days with no hoppers. We aren't Star Wars people and we are DL regulars- so we've ridden Toy Story, star tours and ToT dozens of times and have seen muppets and frozen numerous times. I have one kid who is too short and one who wouldn't like RnR. We stock close to 8pm bedtime on vacation so seeing F! Or the new fireworks wasn't gonna happen. So.... if we went, we'd be going for GMR (gone for you), beauty and the beast and the Indy show. For us... we decided we'd rather get to FP both Pandora rides (hindsight, shoulda gotten Flights of a Passage both days) and see all the AK shows. I'm totally fine with that decision. If we'd had hoppers, we prob would have done a half day there.
