When we were at WDW last September we booked the bounceback because as the agent said "it is such a great deal". They quoted us a price and I doublechecked that they checked it with my kids ages at the time of next trip.. where DD would be 10 (aka Disney adult). She said yes, for a ten year old and told us a price. I got the reservation in October and only took the number of the res to start paying for it online.

Today I looked at it closer and realized my DD's age was listed at 9!!! I was annoyed but decided to call and get it fixed and see how much more we would be out. I was on the phone forever then my cell went out.

I went online to see if the price updated, and sure enough it had up 100 dollars. Not happy, but I have read enough here it is usually futile to fight. I see they have my DS's age wrong but figure they will fix it, so I hit refresh and it appears changing my DS's age from 5 to 6 made it go up another 40 dollars!

I am annoyed to begin with about the price increase, but to see it go up even more is really annoying when I made it very clear that I wanted the price for a 10 year old!!!

What would you do?

since she will be 10, and you'll want her to have a useable ticket and the dining plan that's right for her (presumably), then i'd just pay the extra money and be done... i really don't think you can fight it 'cause it's likely neither side has proof of what you said re: ages...

I would call and explain what happened. We actually upped my son's age from 9-10 last September. The cost for changing him was @ $40. You will pay extra for the child who goes from 9-10. It should be the difference in the price of the child to adult park admission. The younger child should not have changed your price at all.

I would make sure when you call that you explain you are part of the September bounce back program.

good luck

Ugh-I know how frustrated you must be. Of course you don't expect something for nothing and I'm sure if that was the price you were quoted when you first made the arrangements...you wouldn't mind at all. BUT, it's the principle of the thing. You made it clear the child would be 10.
I just hate that. I'd call, especially since the price went up for you son too..that's plain wrong.

I once hassled a bank for two weeks for....are you ready...2cents! Why? Because the incompetence of it's staff just irked me so much.:scared1:

Let us know how this turns out.

my suggestion is to price it out on the disney website w/a 9yo and w/a 10yo and see what the difference is (do the same package, but not include the dining since it will be free)... then you can see if $140 is accurate... depending on what type of ticket you are buying, it could be...

I am not 100% positive on this. That being said, I don't think they type of ticket you purchased should matter. Unless you changed that when you called about your childs age. I think you spend a flat amount to add the options on to any ticket. I think the rate is the same for an adult or child. I checked my Passporter and on the Disney site and could find nothing to change that thought. Sorry to keep adding my two cents. I just hate getting overcharged for something. I know Disney has a lot more money than me.

I am still debating. The new price looks in line with what it should have been all along, but I want to call and complain because I had spoken to my DH at the time about our DD being a Disney Adult and what we were willing to pay, so I know I was VERY clear that I wanted the price to reflect how much more it would be with a ten year old. I even joked with her about how silly it is that 10 is "Disney Adult" and she mentioned that it didn't make a difference in the room res. I said I knew it would be quite a hit in the food portion and she said the amount and talked about what a good deal it was for "three adults". Now we have been going along with plans to go next Sept, and I find myself wondering if it is worth it to even go.

It was 128.00 more because we had hoppers and she talked us into the Deluxe Dining because "it was such a good deal". Now I am considering downgrading to make this all more affordable and I have a bad taste in my mouth over the whole thing.

I know in the grand scheme of things 128.00 could be found, but we were considering whether or not to skip a year as it is.

Also after some digging, I realize that it is a horrible deal to do the deluxe dining because it would be 384.00 more so I might as well pay out of pocket for an extra meal or two and eat breakfast in the room than to pay that! Stupid Disney people! I should be glad, because her mistake may save me some money!

Yes, the agent screwed up, but I think the chances of having your daughter listed as 10 on the reservation at the originally quoted price are low.

I'd just let it go.

Better to get it taken care of before you get there. We had a lot of issues with our reservations for our free dining in Sept. 2007. I felt like I was calling every day for a week to get everything worked out. I tried to stay polite-it was hard because it was frustrating being put on hold for 35 minutes when it was their mistake. But I am glad I kept my cool and it was all worked out. A couple CMs were annoying but most of them were very gracious and apologetic for the mistakes made. Our trip was GREAT! I had thought of just canceling the whole thing but I am sure glad I didn't. Remember you have until 45 days out to cancel and get the refund on the deposit.
Good Luck.
