Is it worth the extra money for atrium view at Gaylord Palms?

I loved having an atrium view room when we stayed there last July. I would spring for the view. BTW, I think the rooms that aren't atrium view do not have balconies!

We got a Priceline upgrade to balcony view in a suite in the St; Augustine portion of the hotel. Loved the atrium view. Upgrade if you can.

I haven't stayed at Gaylord Palms but have at the Opryland Hotel which is the forerunner to the Palms. We had an atrium view room there and loved it...beautiful scenery to enjoy from the balcony and very peaceful, too. I think you would love the upgrade.

It is definately worth the extra money. Gaylord Palms is spectacular, and in December, you would have a great view of Ice..right from your balcony.

How did you go about getting the upgrade? We have a room there for 3 nights in June through Priceline - I am willing to pay for the upgrade, but do not know if I should call and ask about it now or when I check in.

We have stayed 3 times with priceline. I have asked very nicely for an atrium view and have received that view on 2 occasions. The third time an atrium view was available in a King room - but we needed two beds. The staff there is wonderful! I think they will accomodate your request if they can!! Have a great time!

I checked in with DS then 16. I don't know why, but they placed us (on Priceline) in a 1 br king suite with two balconies overlooking the atrium. Easily the best hotel room I've ever stayed in.
