Is it worth joining AAA?

Hi everyone! Happy Monday to all of you. I am in the early stages of planning a Disney World trip. First thing I figured I would try is a travel agent (whom I've contacted already), but then thought well maybe AAA would be beneficial for this. I know they have their own travel agencies, but didn't know if they were worth it. I tried to search thru the forums but many during work hours, that would take up my whole day.
Have a great day and thanks for reading!

AAA provides many services that you may, or may not, find worth your membership, but don't join for any Disney-related discounts. They no longer offer them. I have used them for Disney trips in the past and enjoyed good discounts that I thought made up for the lack of Disney knowledge by the agent that was assigned to me. I have since switched to an agency that completely specializes in Disney and have been much happier.

I booked through AAA for years, but this trip will be my last time. We were assigned a new agent, and she has been condesending and refused to do our ADRs for us. It turned out OK because we were able to get our reservations booking it ourselves, but we had such great service in the past. This morning I called for her to get free dining. She informed me, "I've been trying all morning and I won't have time to stay on the phone all day". EXCUSE ME??? We called her manager and she got the ball rolling for us, but it has been a nightmare going through this woman. A red flag should have been that I knew more about WDW than she did. In fact, she had never been!

I love AAA for the services they offer. But for my vacations, I'll book them myself going forward!

I love AAA for their roadside service (tows, jump starts, etc.) and have been a member since I went to college. I wouldn't use them for a Disney travel agency, however. But there was a decent AAA discount on my 6 day park hopper tickets this past February (purchased before the price increase). It was actually better than Undercover Tourist--though UC was better for non-hoppers.

I got 20% off at all restaurants with my AAA card at the Swan and Dolphin. I thought this was a great deal. I love AAA

If your a member now they have some good services, but don't join just for travel services. As with any company there are good people working for them and better people working. We have had a great relationship with a TA at AAA for many years now.

I'm with CAA (Canadian sister of AAA) and as PPs have mentioned, there is no longer a significant magic your way pkg discount or perks given by Disney to CAA/AAA guests. There certainly were just a few short years ago (to the tune of hundreds of dollars) but the relationship between these organizations was terminated. I keep my membership for non-Disney use . . . primarily for the auto club (towing & boosting) plus the hotel discount at Best Western & some car rentals. There is a discount available at the Swan/Dolphin restaurants but the last time I tried to use it at Kimonos, the manager refused to accept my CAA card . . . advising it was "foreign & therefore void." :rolleyes2

If you join, be prepared to get bombarded with all kinds of junk mail from them. Upgrade your membership, buy our auto insurance, buy our life insurance. Literally every week I have something from them. It's the worst.

Haven't had to use the service itself but I've taken advantage of hotel discounts.

If you can use their road services and such, the travel side is a nice extra, but I wouldn't join for that. When I went last year for info on a Disney package, the agent wasn't really able to help me much.

We just called disney our selves. They are usually pretty good about finding what you want.
